A heartfelt apology or a reaction to appease?

It wasn't selective at all.

"…The players know what is expected here at Everton and they were told in no uncertain terms after the game against Wigan that it was unacceptable – and not just for the performance, but in many cases we lacked the attitude and determination that has to be shown every time they pull on a royal blue jersey."

...so they knew before the game what had to be done (no blame attached to him therefore) and afterward they had to be reminded of it again. No flies on him then.

That's a total abdication of his share of the responsibility.

Spot on, Davek.

He is like Pontious Pilate, washing his hands.

Pointing the finger at the players, as after Wembley last year.

Ih he had said "I got the team selection wrong and I was out thought by Mr. Martinez" his words might have had some meaning.

As it is, they are empty and in answer to the question posed by the thread title, ot is just "appeasement".

Brendan Rogers didn't do any pundit work before he lost to Oldham two rounds before. Quite baffling.

Underestimated them. Didn't prepare well which is the point.

Not the punditry side of it, that's just something to pin on him cos I want to

Agenda. Figures  To be fair I pin anything I can on Anichebe, the lazy massive ego'd injury proned tit.

Silverware is the secondary point in all of this...there were about 2 ounces of a sh*t given out there, THAT'S the problem.

What we all witnessed was very worrying because it shouldn't exist on the kind of level it did, which was almost pitch-wide. You can see it happening individually sometimes but it should never be happening en masse like it did last week.

All I know is that I damn well better see a reaction from the players on the pitch and them giving 100% on the pitch for the entire 90 minutes.

The rest is just talk.

I'd be happy if i never heard another word from Neville. It truly is tedious week after week hearing him spouting bollocks. It's not his age that makes him rubbish, it's his lack of talent as a footballer. Man Utd get Giggs, Chelsea get Lampard, RS get Gerrard, we get Neville. Life is not cool.

Moyes: needs to apologise for his own miserable, rabbit caught in the headlights non-performance rather than throwing his players to the wolves. What a ****house.

Neville: if top ten isn't good enough for him then why did he say it?

he has always used a scapegoa,t if not the team a single player. This has never changed since he arrived.

The only thing I want to see from Neville is his back as he exits this football club as soon as possible.

The fact that that Everton football club is associated with that [Poor language removed] (captain!) riles me no end.

As for Moyes, he´s been a hero of mine for a long time and I can´t find it in me to chastise him. But if he´s run out of ideas, hunger or plain fallen out of love with the club he should say so and go now.

Nothing new in those words, just needed to vent.
