A concern about Martinez's approach

The only time you get in the EPL is too explain your teams performance after the match...it,s the same for every manager.

Wow, I really couldn't disagree with your attitude more.

Short-termism gets you absolutely nowhere - unless you have millions to blow on the best players in the world. We don't. We have to build something with very little. And that takes time.

As I say, if you don't see that then that's fine. Thankfully, the majority of our fans are more patient than you.

I think that because they've mostly all played together for years he knows that we can always go back to the default setting if needed and he's looking to see how different players adapt to different roles.

Results business, period.

He is employed win WIN FOOTBALL MACTHES.

We don,t get points of the league for style.

He is employed for his skill set to manage and bring the club forward in the way he sees fit.

It appears this will be by changing the style. It is likely, but not definite, that this will mean we stutter a bit in some games and other games click and really kill it.

There is no point in arguing really though, if you feel football is just about points and prizes, as you will never agree with the other people who see football as much more than that. Not saying you are wrong, just that it is a pretty much a dividing line between many football fans.

Like it or not, Martinez believes football is more than that. He believes it is to be played in a certain manner and that is how Everton will play, once it all settles down.

(Not that I think Moyes was as negative as a lot make out, I enjoyed a lot of the footy played under him until he would go back to his default settings)

Honestly, I have no time regarding the arguments of style.

History Books don,t speak about style just winners, looses and points. Everton Football club play in competitions to win things...it,s that simple.

If the EPL start giving points and prizes for style then I,am sure Bob will be well in their, like.

But its not that simple, because a huge amount of football fans all over the world do have time for style.

History books speak about a lot of teams that didn't win. I'm sure if you stopped and thought about it you would remember that contrary to what you state the Holland of Cruyff and Brasil of Zico are considered two of the greatest teams of all time.

Anyway, like I said. We wont agree because of the basic difference at the bottom of our arguments. For me football is much more than about points and prizes.

Fine you award the team style points, the rest of will check the league table standings and winners names on trophy's in May 2014.

He's changing the style in an attempt to deliver results:

- His style of play laid the foundations for the decent EPL team Swansea are now
- The style was at best hit and miss at Wigan, eventually getting relegated despite their FA Cup triumph

He's not changing the style for the sake of it, we've got some really good players at this club and it could really pay off. However, it may take time to for all the dominoes to fall into place. It certainly wouldn't excuse us losing most games/failing to win most games. But what people are trying to stress to you is that lets say by Christmas we're around 10th place... then not to man panic stations and try to oust Martinez. It may or may not work out for him here at Everton, but getting on the manager's case won't help anyone.

What a joyless soul you are, D410. I only hope you never get into management, of any description.

Now now lets not get personal, focus on the discussion at hand. Sign of weakness in your POV to make it personal you know.

Hopefully it works out, but of course if by May 2014 there is no real sign of progress then yes we would probably have to look elsewhere.

It's cool how you didn't acknowledge any of my points though (y) I'm also sceptical of Martinez, just think fans should actually allow him a chance though. I dunno give him till say.................

......May 2014?
