90% broadly not wanting the Kenwright cabal on that poll
74% not wanting them in the poll on this forum

...84% broadly want them on a PL survey run via the OS

....given that there will be a strong possibility of significant crossover of respondents across the three, that sounds very suspicious.

The sos poll was 2,000 people, the one on here was 400. Given the obvious selection bias where you only go to forums if you have something to say on them, I don't either are a big enough sample to be statisically relivant.

Statistically those numbers are relevant, tbf. I forget the ratios the expert pollsters deal in but 2000/1500/400 given the constituency we're talking about here they would be deemed significant.

The question is who participates in them. I for one completed all three. I'm sure there's many more. The OS is frequented far and wide and possibly can be said to have a different user to SOS and GOT, but I'd expect a good deal of crossover because the type of people looking to fill surveys in on Everton will gravitate toward them and the Everton web community would see to it that they were made aware (GOT is the biggest independent forum now, and the SOS survey was advertised on all the main web boards and forums and couldn't be missed if you follow the club online).

The disparity doesn't add up. IMO, the PL survey doesn't represent the online community. It's an outrider that makes me suspicious.

I don't know enough details about the pl survey to know. When was the poll done, where and how many filled it ou? i can't seem to find that anywhere.

I agree the difference is notable (I suspect it's partly selection bias and partly the way the three quastions are worded to lead voters in different directions: are you worried about the future, do you think everton is well run, do you want change in the board room?).

And I also agree that if it was online and done on the os, you'd expect mroe overlap then there is, you're spot on there.

I'd want a survey of fans at the ground, myself. And one entirely random rather than self selecting in the way polls of forum users/os visitors are. But then you'd have a problem of being reliant on whether everton are doing well or badly in the last few matches on the field, I guess but that's inevitable to a certian extent.

The PL survey via the OS was 1,500 or so conducted over a week.

I think in the main the SOS questions are value free and can be compared with the wording of the PL survey on satisfaction levels. Maybe the biggest issue here is the time factor: the PL survey was conducted when we were top 4; the SOS survey was conducted as a result of the furore over the release of the PL survey results. That would skew things, yes. Enough though to get polar opposite views on how well the club is run from pretty much the same constituency? Doubtful, imo.

The PL survey was staggering precisely because we're not used to this board of directors getting that type of reaction...at least online.

But does the online community represent Evertonians as a whole? I don't know, just asking the question

I'd be interested to see two different surveys done by those who do the forums/twitter and those who don't

Maybe, maybe not. But it is that community that's being compared here.

Well run compared to Rangers or Portsmouth? ...

Yep I would agree with the 84%

Well run compared to ManU or Arsenal or some other top club. um...not so much.

84% think the club is run well (in the circumstances that we have no money) is about right. You would not think so on the forums because there is a small group of people who will post day and night anti Kenwright posts, over and over again, which is their right but it makes it look like most Evertonians are anti Bill and they just aint.

Am I misreading this, are you saying the SOS questionnaire isn't biased in comparison to the PL one?

Not in terms of questions just in terms of voters, I think.

I haven't read either but he seems to be arguing that the questions are worded simarly, it's just that different people are taking them.

So it's not a case where say 90% agree that "given the ammount of club in danger of bankrupty everton is largely in a good position" and 80% agree that "given how little money everton have spent there are worries about their ability to remain competitive in the future". Because leading questions was my proposed answer for the massively differing results.
