Current Affairs 78 Year Old Arrested For Murder After Stabbing Burglar

Neither do I. However thinking objectively, how it's currently panning out may suggest that it's not as simple as a act of defending himself.

Do you think most cops would want to instantly arrest him? No, so I'd be inclined to think there must have been reasonable grounds to do so.

Unfortunately I do happen to think that the Police would want to arrest him. That’s my whole point.....

I have no doubt that if taken to court a jury will come back with the correct result, whatever that happens to be, I just don’t like the way that a homeowner who’s property has been invaded is immediately arrested and kept in a cell. The police used to investigate burglaries and support homeowners, now they investigate homeowners and support Burglars. It’s exactly the same when ‘travellers’ invade someone’s land, the police will do nothing, but if the landowner tries to throw them out the police will be all over them. It’s perverse......

should do the same to them as they do with drug dealers, confiscate there assets unless they can prove how they have earned them, if they cant sell them on to help pay for more police.

I thought it was the law you could attack them and it changed a few years ago if at home,if they are bad etc,not the mans fault the burglar died later

eg- if i see someone in my garden trying to steal a plant, i shout at him and he tries to jump the fence, i then grab him off the fence and stab him repeatedly until he dies... then thats prob considered unreasonable

Its almost like a formal process has to be followed when someone is killed....

You can`t just stab someone to death, whatever the circumstances and not be questioned.

Unless the burglar has been overpowered or was running away (the threat to the home owner had gone ), there`s no way he`s getting charged.
