There was no feeling in the jokes, it was the same with Seth Meyers. Their heart was not ready to process this in a funny way.
I also think that the nail was hit with the different reasons she lost. We have heard on here, Harris should have said this and that, but although we were living in hope, there is one static in the reasoning on why she lost. It wasn't Biden, some people say he should have been there more, some say he was there too much. It wasn't the economy, one simple search by Trump fans would have seen 100s of experts talking about how tariffs work, etc. Nothing she would have said would have changed their minds, if this was their reason.
As has been stated on here, it wasn't women's healthcare, including abortion. The states that had this on the ballot voted against abortion bans, by big margins. One simple thought towards the women in their lives would have made enough people think about what they were doing.
Harris is a woman, that is the only thing people cannot disagree on. Whether it was the only factor we will never know but to hide from this being a major factor is extremely naïve.
Personally think she is fantastic.
Her, Jon Stewart and Jordan Klepper are all superb as hosts. Ronny Chieng and Michael Kosta are good but not quite the level of those 3, in my opinion.

I saw a lot of anguish in the way she was delivering the script. Usually she does put a lot more into the delivery of the punchline. The slamming down of the pen looked very much like somebody not doing well. Personally thought it really spoke to how they are feeling right, exasperated, depressed, concerned.
Although, not even sure what you mean by 'tame', shouting at the camera 'What the [Poor language removed] America' is not a tame thing to do?
