In a free society are you not allowed to have an opinion that somebody who you believe has committed a crime should be tried and punished if found guilty. In a free society it should not be allowed to go after people in the same manner if all they have done is disagree with you.

Interesting aside: on another major football forum I'm a guest on (none of the Luton ones count as 'major'), one of the mods there recently said they had noticed a spate of older abandoned accounts suddenly logging in again and funnily enough heading straight to their own news/current affairs section, and barely bothering to post about the club, if at all.
When you think about accounts created ~12 years ago or more, a time before common use of MFA and the like, and a broader awareness of password security, it stands to reason that a great many account details on forums like this have likely been compromised via data breaches since.
Certainly makes you wonder.
There is no smoke without fire and it is surely understood that some of the rhetoric is extremely dangerous, in this context. It has been proven very recently that what he says 'to apparently sound tough' has affects on the population. Springfield would not have had weeks of heavy disruption if there was no lie told to the nation.
We cannot just shrug our shoulders and say it is an old man shouting at clouds or the guy trying to sound tough down the pub saying he could easily beat Mike Tyson in a fight. His words could have devastating affects, the word here that is doing the heavy lifting is 'could'. Trump talks in facts, regardless of the fact checking. He doubled down on the lie about pets being eaten even when the person who started it said that she made it up. One word out of Trump saying it was false would have saved a lot of confusion and fear for a lot of people.
