Lack of education and the media spin that people lap up is the why for me.

We see it in this country with that gobshite Farage and useful idiot bongo, whipping up the poorly educated to hate their neighbours of different skin tone, when they should be hating a right wing, establishment, rich arseholes. Inherent rascism.

The fake assassination attempt clearly swing a lot of idiots Trumps way also.
That almost certainly plays a part, but you have to ask yourself why certain demographics are attracted to this viewpoint.

The biggest mistake we can make it just to say "They're misinformed/have believed the spin". You don't win people back by telling them they're stupid, you win them back by listening to them to understand their concerns.

Why people still haven’t realised this after the last ten years is beyond me.

Absolutely devastating result. So many people around the world are going to be so negatively affected by this. Obviously everyone here in the US will feel it to some degree with the massive increase in cost of living that is coming our way due to his idiotic tariffs, but that’s just money. It’s so sad for the families that are about to have their lives upended by his deportations. Sad for the Ukrainians who are now about to lose their country to Putin. Sad for the people of Gaza, who while what they’ve already endured has been awful, it’s about to get exponentially worse. Sad for women and girls of this country who have probably lost their right to choose for at least 30 years.

This same morning in 2016 was probably the low point for me as an American, but this tops it by a good distance. At least then you could argue that he was a bit of an unknown. We know now exactly what he is, and sadly I guess know exactly what “we” are. A deeply racist, misogynist and utterly backwards country. Completely ashamed to be an American this morning.
You realize that Kamala wasn't voted in because she is a very bad uncharismatic candidate right or are you just going to spread hate about America? Nothing to do with her race or gender.

I am saying a lot of the Muslim and or pro-Palestinian vote appears to have not voted for Harris, whether it went to Stein, Trump or just didnt vote isnt clear.

In terms of the young men boosting Trump I think its absolutely a factor as well, in fact it may be one of the main factors - take the hypothetical 18-29 year old who uses Instagram, watches UFC, listens to Rogan and the other comedian-podcasters.

These people are not exposed to not a lot of Zionist content (given that they don't generally watch the news or follow politics closely except via long-form podcasts), and the UFC actually gives them positive Muslim role-models such as the Dagestani fighters. They have also been exposed, via Instagram and Rogan / his ilk, to a lot of accurate reporting of what the Israelis are doing now and have been doing since 1948. This hypothetical chap has also seen his government twist itself into ever more absurd positions in order to justify continuing the unjustifiable and without ever explaining why it has done this.... whilst Trump did actually engage with the people they listen to (though never uttered more than it had to end quickly).
A lot of assumptions there. More data required I think, but it’s an interesting POV all the same.

Yep, it's because it's an inconvenient truth. It's so much easier to think "I'm right and they're wrong - they'd agree if they knew what I knew". We're all biased, and those who can see through their own biases and reach across the divide are the people who win.

A quick question for the US members here; why has he been voted in again?

Because it’s obviously not the wisest thing to do.

Your country had a choice between a white male fascist and a black female.

Surely it can’t be as plain and obvious as that? If it is then you have problems that will take decades to clean up. You haven’t made America great again, you’ve severely weakened yourselves in every sense.
I'm working with a load of Americans at the minute. They pretty much all wanted Trump. They think the economy will be better off with him in. Which may be true. But the rest of things will be garbage..

They have been telling me that a LOT of native Americans and black Americans have voted for trump this time. Staggering really.

When you reduce everything to a binary choice this is what happens.

Trump is an appalling person - racist, sexist, ignorant, immoral, corrupt and bone-idle with a history of bad behaviour in most walks of life. If the only other choice is maintaining a system that is clearly failing most people and refuses to do anything about it then people can't really be surprised if people either refuse to vote or vote against them.
