For the record, I wasn't saying that's what you said - I was replying to the scenarios @Mutzo Nutzo gave. That is not what I said, though. The content that the people who probably gave Trump this victory consume is much more open about that conflict and the nature of the US response to it than the traditional media is. They might not be very animated about Gaza, but the genocide is something which can be used to push other lines (Israeli control of US politics for example) that got them to vote for Trump.
2016 all over again.
Absolutely devastating result. So many people around the world are going to be so negatively affected by this. Obviously everyone here in the US will feel it to some degree with the massive increase in cost of living that is coming our way due to his idiotic tariffs, but that’s just money. It’s so sad for the families that are about to have their lives upended by his deportations. Sad for the Ukrainians who are now about to lose their country to Putin. Sad for the people of Gaza, who while what they’ve already endured has been awful, it’s about to get exponentially worse. Sad for women and girls of this country who have probably lost their right to choose for at least 30 years.
This same morning in 2016 was probably the low point for me as an American, but this tops it by a good distance. At least then you could argue that he was a bit of an unknown. We know now exactly what he is, and sadly I guess know exactly what “we” are. A deeply racist, misogynist and utterly backwards country. Completely ashamed to be an American this morning.
Yes, but could also be looking for legacy.I'd add on top, he no longer has to even contemplate the effects of his actions on any re-election campaign.
