I’m generally in agreement with this. It’s hard to imagine anyone still being on his side, seeing this, and FINALLY deciding they’re done with him. But, because of how close the swings states that will decide the election are, literally changing the minds of the right 50k people in a nation of 350M might actually swing it one way or another.
My hope is among the Evangelical youth community that is passionate about sex trafficking, this news along with the recent explosion of the Access Hollywood tape on TickTok shared by 18-21 year old voters who were 10-13 when it happened - it might cause some who were on the Trump side to not vote or those who were not inclined to go to the polls to vote Harris.

Small numbers in a few states may matter.

It's weird that several people, during the planning stages of this parade, were like, "...yeah, great idea..." "...and let's use a chain..." "...and handcuffs..." And somehow this just resonated as a good idea with no consideration of accountability.

And to be sure, this stuff happens all the time, and yet "them liberals" are accused of being in an echo chamber.

How much of a hermetically sealed-chamber do you have to be in to think it's appropriate to depict a black woman (and presidential candidate) in handcuffs, chained to a golf car as a felon, in a public city-sponsored parade?

And then they'll bemoan some sort of "wokeism" about how they were just joking and the Libs have no sense of humor

Or something

So Biden is not on the list. At all. But Trump 2020 was 2nd top. And Biden beat him fair and square.

Ok.

This either shows that the figures are BS or that they mean nothing.
It's a good indication of how many voters for each party will turn up to vote on the day.

But remember, you can't use the popular vote to determine the winner.
You can have more votes on the day, but still lose the election because of the electoral college.

That also goes to show that you can't rely on polls to call an election.

How many of those candidates were ahead in the polls, but still ended up losing the election?

It's favourability with their own voters, and specifically people that said they are highly favourable of the candidate. Biden's figures for 2020 aren't in the article but he might have had lower "high favourability" but a good level of "moderate favourability" among Democrats.

These are the total figures for both candidates this year from this poll. As you can see they both have basically the same total favourability with the party's voters (Harris +3). I am guessing it was similar in 2020 but with a more even split for Biden between highly/moderately.

As for 2020, Biden's share of the Independent vote increased by 8% over that of Mrs. Clinton.

I thought she'd stomp him, but I think she'll only get a narrow margin of victory now
She has a tough path campaigning.
The clear double standard is insane.
Biden (not her) says one stupid thing and its still being covered.
Trump threatens to blow another politician from his own partys head off and it gets no coverage.
If the trump campaign says 10 stupid things in a day and the Harris campaign says one,
Fox will focus on Harris and the rest of the media will focus on the worst trump thing and the Harris thing and ignore the other 9 trump things.
(if that makes sense).
As a woman of color, Harris has to be almost perfect, this means not insulting anyone or taking any radical (for America) positions.
She's a very competent politician and doing very well given the unfair barriers placed in her way.

Her campaign on the whole has exceeded my wildest expectations, given the uphill battles you describe and many others

Will come down to how motivated their base is...dems have a better ground game so may ge their vote out easier
Could be wrong but I reckon both bases are a given.
It's all about turn out for the other 1/3.
There are very few undecided voters but there are a lot of apathetic voters.
There are a lot of people who may come out last minute just because they dont like one of the candidates.
It's about mobilizing the ones who usually cant be bothered.

I was lukewarm to indifferent about her during her VP and said this on this forum a few times, mostly because she wasn't in the news that much; or maybe I wasn't paying that much attention. But when she rose to the presidential nomination I started to pay attention to both her qualifications and her background (i.e., the Frontline episode "The Choice: 2024" is great for understanding where she came from individually and politically) and rapidly grew to find her both not just a "better than Trump" candidate but one that is more than competent and quite qualified.
