Current Affairs 2024 POTUS race

Maybe they are sick of the identity politics I don't live in America but from what i have read is financially people were better off under Trump

If I was part of an oft-demonised & identifiable minority group in a country toying with the idea of electing a fascist dictator, then I'd probably want to pay a little more attention to things and not dismiss them as identity politics in favour of a few extra $ in my pocket. Fascism doesn't just thrive on internal division and 'enemy within' tropes, it absolutely requires them to keep the population in line and fearful.

Trump is obviously gaining in the polls but look at the betting markets. Close to 2 billion dollars put on Polymarket in total with Trump winning by 20 points now?!

It’s crazy, are people seeing something that we aren’t because to me it still looks like a tight race not a 60-40 race.
It's market manipulation isn't it? Creating a false impression in the betting markets that Trump is destined to win, to help push up Trump stock prices.

And you can't rule out money laundering either.

Be interesting to see in the days prior to the election how much trump stock is dumped at likely inflated prices and the volume of lay bets against him, likely from the same
people who have been backing him all the way down to current prices, for said reasons of market manipulation and/or money laundering.

Starting to look a little bleak for Harris. If she’s been holding onto anything for a late boost, now is the time…
I dont think so. Not bleak anyway.

I believe the pollsters are maybe tweaking their methodology in an effort to avoid their embarrassing forecasts in the last 2 presidential elections.

Also, I'd remind you that before the last mid-term elections in 2022 the Republicans were being heavily forecast by the pollsters to make massive gains and they didn't.

I think caution should be the order of the day on the "Harris on the slide, Trump on the move" headlines.

I said there same when Harris was apparently "way ahead".

This race is down to the thousands of votes either way in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgie etc.

Oh dear

So what you're saying is it's not about facts, but about feelings?
No what i am saying is people are voting because of facts not because someone looks like them did you actually read what i said here it is again

You can make your choice either keep voting for a party that has done nothing for you vote for them just because someone says they look like you
or because you are misogynistic (identity politics) or make your decision on what they have done for you it is that simple

The issue is quite simple:
--There are biased political-leaning polls and there are respected polls with transparent methodology.
--In the NYT article that I provided they discuss how Republicans were attempting to bias voter turnout by dumping a bunch of wrong and biased polls in the 2022 midterms. The media (including NYT) subsequently amplified these biased polls and overlooked other polls.
--In the video and in other places, they are claiming that there is a resurgence of these politically-biased polls in 2024, especially in swing-states, and the media is amplifying them again.

This is not a conspiracy, nor even really that surprising. And political pundits as well as experts who study polling bias understand all this. Even people here on GOT understand this. You don't because you can't ever admit that you are wrong or ignorant about a subject.
Which pollsters are you referring to here? If they're not reputable national-based ones then wtf is it worth getting excited over for.

I suspect you're referring to a gaggle of hillbilly no mark polling companies that have zero credibility

IMO the 'crooked poll's' story is a fiction based on taking a number of the no mark pollsters and saying a conspiracy to deny Harris is being hatched.

There's crackpots on both sides of this election contest. Anyone saying otherwise is naive or just a little bit too subjective.

I still can't wrap my brain around Muslin Americans not voting at all or voting for Trump

It's nonsensical given Trump's view toward Muslims
People seek to punish 'incumbents' more than support the challenger...no matter what.

I think that'd be the likely explanation if it transpires that Harris loses out, especially in Michigan.
