Current Affairs 2024 POTUS race

With the hyper-partisanship of the US, the incredible underinvestment in education and the vagaries of the electoral college I can understand how a slim Trump popular vote loss and EC win can happen (as in 2016), but if Trump (a candidate with no coherent policy platform, observably diminished mental faculties, a disastrous previous tenure in Office and a criminal history that includes attempted electoral fraud and probable incitement of an insurrection to remain in said Office) somehow picks up ~60% of the actual votes cast and wins traditionally 'blue' states in the process then truly that entire country has gone utterly mad.

Trump is obviously gaining in the polls but look at the betting markets. Close to 2 billion dollars put on Polymarket in total with Trump winning by 20 points now?!

It’s crazy, are people seeing something that we aren’t because to me it still looks like a tight race not a 60-40 race.
Nonsensical.

However, I do wonder about that statement from the WH yesterday concerning getting 'tough' on Israel in Gaza in terms of withholding some weapons from them if they dont hold open the doors for humanitarian aid.

That possibly indicates that Pennsylvania and Michigan - with big Muslim-American constituencies - might be drifting away from Harris.

I've said for months on here that Harris needed to be on the ball with this issue and heading off a defeat in those two states. But she's mired in the Biden administration's disastrous policy of acquiescence to Netanyahu and his war cabinet. It could cost her the WH.

Yeah I read it Dave, I just wanted you to be specific to what you are saying as you have a tendency to move around a lot to avoid being pinned down to a specific point

Bit of stretch your comment on that, given one person posted it saying it's terrible that they are even thinking to believe it and one other person just replied to it. No sign of anybody picking it up and running with it as fact. You tried to draw some lines from ridiculing the utter clownshow happening on one side, to tentatively mentioning one wild take....it's a stretch and it shows your motives all too clearly
They weren't the subject of my comment. The lunatic in the video banging on about "right wing polls" was.

I didn't think that was too difficult to understand, tbh, but apparently it was...

Yeah I don't really believe that was the only purpose of your post. Your follow up comment about "something you need to think on, not me" would suggest so

I see right wing polls has gone into quote marks there to make a point....again. you have been replied to on that already just this morning and still push it

I support Harris, with massive reservations. But it's ridiculous to accept the conspiracy theory of some of her supporters if you forever make it your point to deride the conspiracies of the Trump supporters.

That's something you need to think about not me.

The issue is quite simple:
--There are biased political-leaning polls and there are respected polls with transparent methodology.
--In the NYT article that I provided they discuss how Republicans were attempting to bias voter turnout by dumping a bunch of wrong and biased polls in the 2022 midterms. The media (including NYT) subsequently amplified these biased polls and overlooked other polls.
--In the video and in other places, they are claiming that there is a resurgence of these politically-biased polls in 2024, especially in swing-states, and the media is amplifying them again.

This is not a conspiracy, nor even really that surprising. And political pundits as well as experts who study polling bias understand all this. Even people here on GOT understand this. You don't because you can't ever admit that you are wrong or ignorant about a subject.

There is 0% chance of this happening

I still can't wrap my brain around Muslin Americans not voting at all or voting for Trump

It's nonsensical given Trump's view toward Muslims

Maybe they are sick of the identity politics I don't live in America but from what i have read is financially people were better off under Trump
so when you get an ex president lecturing you that you should vote for someone who has the same skin colour as you or that you are misogynistic if you don't vote for a woman you make your choice on what is best for you they don't own your vote

Oh dear

So what you're saying is it's not about facts, but about feelings?

Starting to look a little bleak for Harris. If she’s been holding onto anything for a late boost, now is the time…
Honestly mate, if this country votes in Trump given the totality of everything, including the race the candidates have run, we deserve everything we have coming to us.

What else could Harris do at this point?
