Sadly, it's a racist country utterly obsessed with ethnicity and racial identity.

I’ll also point out that this started from a reaction to a post that all republicans care about was “owning the libs.” My contention is that most don’t give a crap about that nonsense. They care more about their living situation, and government spending and cost should be rightfully scrutinized when evaluating domestic issues, some of which have worsened in recent years.

I’m in no way suggesting anyone should support Trumps policies on immigration. I am suggesting that Biden and Harris aren’t impervious to criticism on this and other topics just because the other guy is worse.

What you shared were prepared remarks of testimony to the committee, but, no matter. While I agree there are loads of GOP, independent/lean right folk who care most about pocketbook issues (the ones I hope to sway to vote Dem in this election), there are millions of right-wing TV/radio/church folk who are absolute devotees of the mantra left is always wrong, evil, and must be "owned" in all cases. I cannot count the number of people who have told me I'm not a "real 'murican" because I advocate for a position that does not follow the right-wing talking point of the day. It's soul-crushing.

That said, I got no problem with folks having an honest, thoughtful opposing view that includes an alternative solution. That's good politics!

Every race has a very different culture, that's just a fact. It's not intrinsically the race, it's the culture in which nurtures the mentality.

Social science has proved time and time again that the cultures with a big emphasis on nuclear family with fathers present, nurtures the most successful people on this world.

Im not one to usually back up Davek but he specifically said 'obsessed with racial identity' rather than stating racial identity is a bad thing by default.

Being obsessed with it probably isn't particularly healthy... not that I think most Americans are but id wager on average there are probably more Americans obsessed with it than in most other westernised countries.

Being proud of your ethnicity/race is one thing but not when it is to the determent of others. The attitude towards non-whites, immigrants and the native Americans tells you all you need to know
