Current Affairs 2024 POTUS race

It's been an absolutely fascinating race to follow over the last year, I don't think anyone can truly predict who is going to win. The momentum seems to shift on a daily basis.

I don't personally find the general race to the bottom in politics or the specific example of Trump even being in the picture fascinating, but whatever floats your boat I guess
I find politics fascinating and I was gripped by the Obama vs McCain 2008 race . Since then there have been twists and turns but this race with Biden quitting halfway through and the machinations behind it plus the general battle with Trump and like you said his race to the bottom has been just as fascinating.

I was vehemently opposed to Brexit and a lot of the politics behind it were despicable but from a historical point of view I was also similarly enthralled .

Sure, but either way, why do you think it’s an issue? I’m just curious. I think it's been mentioned before as well.
Well, for starters, we've never had a woman president. One could argue that the election of a black man after 200 years was the catalyst for Trumpism. So there's that.

There is polling that suggests that among black men, surprisingly, Harris being a woman could be a potential issue.

I think it would be very naive to think that Harris being a woman isn't something that could be a worry among certain parts of the electorate. Even if that's only 10% of the electorate, that's a monstrous number

On a scale of 0-10, with 0 being a total non-issue, it's certainly not a 0

I think it comes down to the net impact. Does the boost she gets from women voters offset the counter she’ll see from other demos? I think the #s suggest that answer is yes, but it probably depends on where you look. I just haven’t seen anything that suggests it’s going to be a deciding factor beyond people saying it’s a thing.

I hope you're right

It's not a close election, Polymarket tells a very different story. It's only made close by the media and the polling companies to create hype and attention for this election. If the forecasts were to show a blowout, that would not generate any clicks or interests, thus killing legacy media's business.

Polymarket has it 52-46 in favour of Trump.
Hardly a blowout.
Bookies do slightly favour Harris though.

The woke, far left extremists, communists in the media (90% of the MSM) say it is racist to ask for ID to vote because blacks don't get ID. We are reduced to this absurdity and so the communists continue to rig the elections by making even the dead vote

you'd think they'd at least get 1% of the vote if they were any good at it

It's odd sometimes being a white immigrant in America.
I've had people ranting about immigrants to me and when I point out that I'm an immigrant, I get "yeah, but you know what I mean"

I say this over and over to my right leaning friends and it doesn't seem to get through, but everyone in America (except the remaining tribal nations) is an immigrant
