Walz is weird and embraces it. Which is kind of the definition of "weird in a good way". Someone comfortable in his own skin.
Vance and the GOP are weird, but totally think they aren't weird. And they continue to say the weirdest things every day. This is classic "weird in a bad way." They are so weird and have no idea - they think they are normal. But they are insecure, small human beings.
Ok.He’s not autistic. Non-verbal learning disorder, ADHD and anxiety.
Nonverbal learning disorder (NVLDor NLD) is a proposed category of neurodevelopmental disordercharacterized by core deficits in visual-spatial processing and a significant discrepancy between verbal and nonverbal intelligence(where verbal intelligence is higher).Proposed additional diagnostic criteria include intact verbal intelligence, and deficits in the following: visuoconstruction abilities, speech prosody,[3] fine motor coordination, mathematical reasoning, visuospatial memory and social skills.[4][5][6][7
I disagree completely.Walz is weird and embraces it. Which is kind of the definition of "weird in a good way". Someone comfortable in his own skin.

He won’t though. Like others said, he’s self aware enough, and comfortable enough in his own skin to just lean into his own personal “weirdness” and embrace it.I disagree completely.
The introduction of the word 'weird' into serious political discourse has to be seen as a step backward to something less than desirable.
Leave the childish name calling. It has a habit of rebounding. I think Walz will feel the full force of it now, I'm afraid.
It was a blunder, not a stroke of genius.
That’s a surprise.I disagree completely.
But if he's 'weird' himself where is the political pay off of calling others 'weird'?He won’t though. Like others said, he’s self aware enough, and comfortable enough in his own skin to just lean into his own personal “weirdness” and embrace it.
Also, how in the name of god can the word “weird” be seen as a step backward from Republican rhetoric over the past decade?
I can see it becoming as iconic as Reagan’s ‘there you go again’ to Carter. That is why the weird comment was genius.
The extreme majority of us, if not all, will be seen as 'weird' at some point. It's weird that you like/participate in [insert activity here], what you are saying is weird, etc.
Most people will shrug it off, own it, make a joke of it. Walz knew that they did not have the capacity to do any of these things and they would blow their minds and sputter nonsense to try and 'get back at them'.
Such a simple throwaway comment was sent knowing that it would hit them right where it was supposed to, their ego.
But if he's 'weird' himself where is the political pay off of calling others 'weird'?
It's daft. Playground stuff.
I dont buy her, tbh. Her speech was lightweight in terms of policy and presentation and she comes across as being a bit beige.
People talk about 'being presidential' and, of course, any woman who tilts at that post will suffer because people have no reference point for a woman president, but she comes across as insubstantial.
The Democratic Party would do well to keep her clear of any tv interview grillings with any serious interviewer; although she'll probably do ok against Trump, who's almost as bad as Biden and looks and sounds like a dinosaur.
Newsom would have been a much much better pick than Harris. Harris has the re-energisation of the African-American vote and that's her thing that she brings to the table. But she's a very poor candidate. And I hate to say it, but Trump was correct when he was tweeting away that many of the things she talked about last night and complained of were there for her to do something about in office with Biden.
I think her and the Democrats get hauled back over the economy and immigration over the next two months. It's a worry for anyone on here who are desperate for a Harris win.
Oh, and the line about backing Israel all the way with minimal reference to the suffering of the Palestinians: that just lost them the best part of the Arab-American vote.
A convention speech isn’t meant to be a policy deep dive. It’s entirely about vibes and getting people excited for the ticket. The debates in a few weeks (if Trump doesn’t bail) will be a much better platform for her to get into policy.I dont buy her, tbh. It's just fluff and reflects more on the user of it. If you're 'weird' yourself why do it?Because weird is in the eye of the viewer.
I have always seen weird as a strange word when using it to insult somebody. It is not an insult, all it would have taken Trump & Vance to say is 'Yeah, we are a bit weird, aren't we', and it would have all blown over and forgotten about.
Me and my wife constantly call each other weird, to some people I guess we would be with our silliness, etc. This is the point of the attack line, I honestly think you missed the point of the reference to 'weird'.
It is not seen as an insult, childish or otherwise, by anybody who has an ounce of humility, has an ounce of self awareness. Walz threw the 'weird' grenade at them while keeping the pin in, then he sat back and let them pull the pin out themselves.
It wasn't the playground antics of trying to get a nickname for everybody you see and coming up with something as pathetic and childish as 'Laffin' Kamala. It was a precise and simple attack on their own ego, on their hubris. And it worked, what was Trump's comeback ' No, you're weird'. Now, they are using it against Walz kid for crying and being proud if his Dad, while not knowing how to express himself because of his condition, they have pulled that pin out and not even bothered to run away.
