Biden could probably change a few minds by some interviews or press conferences with questions where he performed well but he doesn’t seem to be doing that.

Making it about the person is a way of avoiding the policy discussion. A Biden guy like Fetterman does not want what the AOC loyalists want, on a large number of policy dimensions.Respectfully, this is why we lose national elections.
We make it about the person, rather than policy.
It would certainly ratchet the pressure up.Pelosi has more or less thrown him under the bus now; NY Times poll calling it a 6 point Trump lead - I suppose that ABC interview on Friday, conducted by a man who has previous with Trump, is going to figure heavily in the Biden fightback. If he blows a gimme like that he's surely toast.
Let me clarify.Making it about the person is a way of avoiding the policy discussion. A Biden guy like Fetterman does not want what the AOC loyalists want, on a large number of policy dimensions.
When an opportunity presents itself, the left wing of the party goes on the attack, and the center-left to center circles up the wagons, or vice-versa. American Bridge is way left, so it should not surprise you that their donors want Biden out and a dyed-in-the-wool progressive in.
The Democrats have enough of a numerical edge that the small state bias in the Electoral College should be a non-issue. Unfortunately, the Democrats also have a long history of eating their own.
That's an accurate description of what happens at the level of individual voters.Let me clarify.
Dems seem most to want to fall in love with a guy/gal on our side rather than consistently battle the horrific "conservative agenda(s)" that have been pushed by lunatics on that other side since Newt Gingrich and far too often are willing to suffer defeat rather than consistently turn out in the numbers you accurately describe.
Agreed. That's an accurate description of what happens at the level of individual voters.
I'm describing what happens at the party elite level - politicians and the media sabotaging candidates as a means of trying to push the preferred candidate of their wing of the party to the forefront. If you turn on the TV and put it on a mainstream political program, you'll find they're discussing whether Biden should step down and whether Kamala should be bypassed.
A unified party would say, "Who cares? All we want is to win. If Biden turns into a rutabaga, that's what the 25th Amendment is for." The Republicans have that level of unity (after giving all the Never Trumpers a sharp shove out the door). The Democrats do not.
I watched for a few mins straight after the debate and the take was nuts.Agreed.
Fascinating, tho.
Watching MSNBC for the first time in months. The entirety of the Joy Reid program tonight has been "who cares if Biden's head is in a jar, vote for him because THAT SIDE IS INSANE!!"
Sadly that is what the American political system is now.I watched for a few mins straight after the debate and the take was nuts.
They completely glossed over Bidens car crash showing, tried to see positives in it.
Couldnt believe their take. Completely ignoring the massive news story in front of them.
They're Donald Ducked. So with who would they replace him?
From what im reading on social media possible candidates includes Buttigieg who is gay and because majority of America is still homophobic he wouldn't stand a chance,
Harris who is apparently disliked by everyone and again wouldn't stand a chance,
and Newsom guy from California also in shitty position because apparently everyone in America hates California.
