Well, that's probably marginally better than Harris but not as good as just changing the candidate to someone good. Barring a major economic downturn, I do find it hard to see Biden losing. It will be an excruciating few months though, for sure
Have my doubts tbh.
Who do you think of either party would?
Witmer for the Dems would be the most likely and I still think she’d start about 5pts down from a male candidate.

I really don’t think people care much…Some of the most conservative states around have elected female governors. It’s more about belief system at this point.
For the Dems, we’ve discussed how bad the bench is in the past but I still think Whitmer and Klobuchar would have won if backed by the party early. Haley could’ve beat Biden hands down. Gabbard before she be became independent would’ve been one to watch.
His team did his no favors with trying to fill his head with multiple stats last night.

Yes we’ve definitely made progress re governors and senator, just think Commander in chief is a step further that a lot of older generation would be prepared to go.
Klobucher was killed by her staff treatment, otherwise she might have got better traction. Tulsi also had some skeletons that were unlikely to survive national exposure even before her Tucker Carlson stand-ins.
Would never have voted for Haley myself (abortion position to name but one disagreement) so not in a position to really judge her.

When you vote for a candidate you should have a reasonable expectation that that person is fit to serve their full term and carry out their declared policies.
There is no chance Biden, if elected, is going to last four years, and so the Democrats are actually spitting in the eyes of the American voters by pretending all is well with their man.

Fair enough. Polls suggested she was up 60:40 on Biden before Trump got the nod. I think people just want a functioning adult who isn’t too far either direction
Aside from the whole tribalist aspect of just wanting the Dems to win, there isn't much positive to take from his performance. He's arguably the most powerful man in the world, and it's very unlikely that he's going to get better throughout his tenure (and could get quite a bit worse).

My opponent has 34 criminal convictions; has fomented an insurrection against this great Democracy; was caught mishandling important state secrets vital to our national security; and has sexually assaulted a woman and has many more claims of sexual assault against him. He also has very tiny hands and is a narcissist. Now, in lieu of answering your question--afterall, my opponent never does, and he just lies his way through each question--I'm gonna outline my specific plan on [insert one: job creation, women's reproductive rights; taxation and inflation; the southern border; Ukraine; Gaza; etc.] Now regarding [again cite specific issue] here is my plan: Point one: [insert specifics]; Point 2: [insert specifics]; Point three: [insert specifics]"
Do this for every single question. Every single one. Start out with that preamble and then stick to the issues. Ignore if moderators say you didn't answer the question. It really doesn't matter that you need to answer the mod's question. For the rebuttal, revisit the above in an abbreviated way:
