Not impressed with that attack from Castro. It was pretty cheap, and suspect all he will have done is solidify Biden’s support.

Beto had a very good night (and particularly compared to his previous debates).

Warren her usual impressive self.

They need to figure out between Warren and Sanders who is going to keep going relatively soon. I want Sanders but I quite like Warren. Wouldn't mind if he dropped out to let her be the main focus.

The weird thing is, most of each of their supporters’ “second choice candidate” is Biden.

I think they'll both be in it till super Tuesday anyway and I'd only see bernie dropping out if Warren wins in California.
Going in to Super Tuesday, Warren and Biden will probably have divided up the spoils.
Here's a question, what happens to your delegates if you drop out during primary season?

Reminded me of the “you’re like-able enough” debate comment by Obama to Hillary - there can be a valid criticism about your opponent but you have to phrase carefully or you just look mean.

Biden’s age and often confusing statements (his answer to segregation that involved “make sure you put the record player on” was pure gibberish) do need to be addressed at some point though, just think Castro took the wrong tack and opportunity. It isn’t like Trump is going to be reticent on the issue so better for everyone, including Biden himself, that Joe proves how he can deal with it of he wants to be nominee.

Being Warren’s VP if she gets the nomination is a logical target for Castro if he can’t win the nomination himself and doubt she is too upset the issue got raised without her having to do it.

It was, but it needed to be said. Pretending to ignore Biden when he "mis-speaks" in the way that he has been will mean they can't raise when Trump does it.

I honestly feel that biden was the only one on stage last night who Trump would batter in a debate.
Biden got angry and confused when challenged by moderate democrats, christ knows how he'll preform against Trump.
Literally anyone else on that stage last night would hold their own.

I don’t disagree with that in theory. The way Castro did it was cheap and mean spirited - and not even terribly accurate on this particular instance. Biden DIDN’T say what Castro was accusing him of saying. He was maybe a bit unclear, but certainly didn’t “forget” an outright statement that he made.

It seemed forced, and like Castro had decided ahead of the debate that he was going to use some variant of that line, and looked for a place to force it.

I’m less sure. Biden gets himself in difficulty when he gets into the weeds on policy - Trump has even less command of facts and policy than Biden on even his worst day.

A Biden/Trump debate isn’t going to be some wonky policy discussion.

Feel like I’m spending a lot of time defending Biden, but he’s miles off being my preferred candidate. I just don’t think the takes of “he’d be a disaster up against Trump” are accurate - and what evidence there is currently backs up that supposition

These sort of incidents do nothing to decrease my concerns about Biden being able to motivate voters under 50 if he is the nominee

That people at the top of the party are still banging on about electability - which is all that is keeping him at the top of the polls - shows how they've learned nothing from 2016. Someone has to tell him to pack it in, and quickly.
