looking like a showdown between Harris and Sanders for me
she'll probably win, because she'll have the full backing (and, one imagines, less of the incompetence) of the Clinton/Obama networks and resources, and, despite a career built on locking away poor people for no reason, will be presented as woke enough to lull the youth who think it's awfully clever to moan on the internet about old white men and who don't read between the lines of her policy agenda

Does it really matter? Trump won't stand aside peacefully if he's defeated. There will be a national emergency declared on the election as a tainted result. He will plant like three people he can parade on camera (and pardon later) that will admit they were illegal aliens casting votes against him.

Sorry it would be like 10 illegals he'd parade that voted against him...he'd pardon the three I mentioned as a sort of mini immigration lottery for motivation.

I was all in for Bernie last time around, but I think his time has come and gone. Not that I don't think he has value. The man is sharp as a tack and could make a valuable running mate.
Don't mention Vince, or Joe will feel compelled to say something about the Post Office being sold too cheaply. Joking aside though, it's not ideal when so many political leaders seem to be old, white blokes.

The policy argument is far less relevant now than it was in 2016. The Democratic Party has moved much more into line with Bernie's policy suggestions.
Bernie isn't the right choice this time round (as much as I think he was in 2016). The demographics that the Dems need to turn out in 2020 are the exact ones that Bernie was weakest with. And it doesn't help that an appreciable minority of his supporters online (the "Bernie Bros") seem to think that alienating women is the way forward.
Plenty, me included, went with the comedy name candidate
Oprah has real name recognition though...always a factor early doors in a big field
Trump does kinda suggest believing TV personalities can be good leaders is perhaps a bit naive. The US is one of the most enterprising places on the planet, so it's hard to believe there isn't a leader in the entire country that isn't a septuagenarian white bloke.
