He didn’t even work hard to compensate for his absence of any ability whatsoever. He just wandered into random areas of the pitch looking stoned.

Genuinely can’t think of a better summary of him than that. Whenever I can bring myself to remember something he did in an Everton shirt, he’s never where you’d expect him to be.

I actually wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case. He had two loan spells last season and wasn’t allowed to finish either.

I would have thought if he had turned down a move news would have leaked out. I can't imagine that many teams see him as the answer to their problems particularly when you factor in Premier League wages.

Nah the ones that leak out tend to be because at some stage there’s been a hint that someone is interested in the move. If a player has just immediately point blank refused to discuss it it’ll never be reported. You’ve kind of hit on the key point though haven’t you, if his wages are an issue then that’s his choice. He could instruct his agent to find him a club on less money, if he hasn’t then he’s no different to niasse.

Yeah you’re totally right? I just mean I wouldn’t necessarily be certain that it hasn’t happened just because it’s not been in the papers. Martina not fancying going on loan to Swindon would hardly be a big story so a lack of reports doesn’t necessarily equate to a lack of interested teams.
