Which also makes them 'weak and wobbly'. They're not fit for national stewardship.

Believe me, unless there's a miracle change of fortune then May will not be allowed to maintain leader of the party beyond the short-term.

Those in Conservative HQ made the decision during her spectacular fall during the election campaign that their choice for PM lay away from her.

Probably far more knowledgeable than 'older wiser' may supporters, who when asked for a counter argument on Cornyn, simply give you daily mail headlines. It's very easy to sneer at the youth voters, I'm impressed that they are making an effort to understand the argument, despite our disgusting media's best attempts, and again that's more that can be said for a lot of older generations

Yep Jezzer is certainly hitting back against the corporate elite and the corrupt mainstream media (which is the very definition of populism). Syreza, Geert Wilders, Podomos or trump. Two sides of the same coin.

There's nothing wrong with populism in the sense of economic and social populism (see Corbyn, Sanders etc). On the other hand authoritarian populism (Trump) is ultimately nauseous.

The problem with populism is that it firstly pins the blame on an out group, which nearly always massively over simplifies things, and it then continues that theme by suggesting that the solution is very simple too.

It's surely no surprise that populism has risen alongside social media and the vacuous government by soundbites.

It is very obvious that a Labour Government right now would offer more stability than the current incumbents, however at this time I don't want it just to be a 'socialist' government. (I'm a social libertarian, and after further reading it would appear that I'm relatively closely aligned to Corbyn so I would be happy with him as PM) I'd like well respected and decent people from across all parties to be consulted and listened to with regards to how to best get ourselves out of this mess. Which I guess is the main difference between decent people and the hard-wired Tories like May, Gove, Ress-Mogg, Woodward, Johnson et al.
