Its gonna be an absolute disaster, only good thing is labour will get rid of corbyn
That's the thinking behind it. They're talking about a real swing as even within the party it's just over 17% of members who approve of him.

It could be a massive landslide if actually is a snap General Election; obviously there'll be stalwart Labour voters but there'll be those who won't.

Could like a reverse of the '97 results. The Lib Dems will fancy a free roll at it though.

I doubt they'd get into a point of being the opposition, however I could see their number of consistencies rising significantly if it is an election.

If you're a disenchanted Labour supporter then you're not going to swing to Conservatives so it leaves you with a number of different options.

Obviously there'll be those who just stay with Labour regardless of how the party is going, but that'll be more likely the staunch leftist side.

Otherwise you can either abstain, which will only help with the whitewash, choose an independent or sway towards the Lib Dem option.

The latter is more likely due to some of their softer views, hence why they could take a fair few seats from the already demoralised Corbyn.

In my opinion, if the announcement is to call a General Election, the Labour Party should be very worried.
Corbyn will never get elected and a huge defeat could jeopardise the chances of Labour regaining power for a long, long time.

Spoke to a relative who rolls in such circles, and he said I wouldn't be surprised if it is a general election but it may not be with May as leader.

Lots of whispers that she isn't happy in the role and neither are key individuals in the party. That would be an even bigger twist in the tale.

Very interesting. Could be numerous things - confirmation of IndyRef 2, snap GE with or without a resignation... or announcing they've switched from Andrex to Asda Smartprice brand as a commitment to austerity.
