Tim mate, my point is that that both our main parties are "inextricably linked" to paramilitaries. History will call it though.

And for context, I'm not that old that I remember the heap :)

Gerry Adams and Arlene Foster are the 2 leaders. I don't think history will in any way say their links to paramilitaries were similar. Foster is one turbo gash, incompetent waste of time of a political leader. But she got involved in politics because her dad was shot.

Absolute state of the Tories now. On the deck and being helped to their feet by a shower of flat earth believers.

They are beyond reprehensible.

Feel sorry for those that were duped into voting for them. Vote Tory and get Ian Paisleys lot.

A Tory deal with the DUP would wipe the Tories out again in Scotland. SF are correct, not allowed to show any favour to one party. The DUP are hostile to the Good Friday Agreement, so woudn't be too bothered for it to collapse and direct rule brought back. These Tories haven't a clue what's in the Good Friday Agreement as they are too stupid and up their own backsides to pay much attention of what is around them.

This Tory/DUP pact may never get off the ground.

That is the absolute idiocy of this. The DUP would back the Tories 99% of the time anyway, to even talk about a deal with them guarantees that you run into the problems she has run into and that they will want paying for it.

That they are right to point this out should really tell all that needs to be told about this deal.

May is finished.

This deal is never getting off the ground.

But how on earth is it contravention of the GFA. Surely doing deals, finding allies, lobbying, making sure your bills pass etc is well....erm politics?

The DUP are calling for border controls which effectively test up the Agreement. Their hatred of Corbyn is very veciferous and they will do anything to keep him out of No 10. The Tories seem to have done the deal with the DUP, which will go against the GFA. But that will not bother the DUP as they were against it being signed.

May is taking a massive gamble to save her bacon. Maybe she'll be gone by Sunday.

Eight and a bit days until negotiations start, which probably means the weekend for them to work out Gove is the only option, a day to announce it, and a couple of days for him to form a Government and then settle in for a bit. Next weekend off and then he starts negotiations as a minority government.

The payment is the collapse of the Good Friday Agreement, which the DUP have always been hostile about due to the cross border institutes. A de facto snail's pace United Ireland.

The Tories will be judging that 'there is no stomach for a return to the armed struggle' amongst the Republican community. Like everything else she has judged, it has gone pear shaped. Can't see her lasting the week-end. Particularly, with that Tory Davidson after her and a very hostile media and party seething after so many loses in England and Wales.
