All a little bit anticlimactic now. Tories still in government, their polices will still go through and the country will still be screwed.

I hung my hope on Corbyn getting in, and seeing the positive changes from him.

To be honest is that it now? The NHS is getting sold off, Police cut again, rich better off?

He was never going to win, but take solace from the fact that the Tories won't be able to do even half of what they wanted to with such a tiny majority (Inc. the DUP).

No mate not at all.

Far more energy in the Labour/ opposition voice. What do they have left to dig up on Corbyn, he's Teflon now.

Far more empowerment of the electorate. Do you not like something? Sound, you can protest it, get out, campaign, and you'll get a result.

And the Cons will now have to offer sweetners to the General Public.

I don't think there's a cat's chance in hell that whatever arrangement comes out of this will last 5 years, so he may get a 2nd bite at the cherry sooner rather than later.

But, coming off a higher base, I do think that he will find it more difficult to make further inroads at the next election. The expectation will be higher, for one thing, and that in itself creates problems.

Also, I don't think that there's much more he could have done. I actually think that part of Corbyn's appeal has been that he's been such an underdog, and you know how the British people love an underdog. And the youth vote, while amazing, we all know how such large bursts of political energy are difficult to sustain, as we have seen with the SNP falling back. So, I think Corbyn did as well as he could in this election. I'm not saying that he couldn't make further inroads next time around, but it will be more difficult.

Totally agree

Farage isn't stupid. Far from it. He'll look at the the shape of the Brexit negotiations before deciding what to do. Like any good politician he'll get involved if he feels that there is another groundswell of political energy/discontentment that he can harness.

JC Juncker on TV right now.. you can hear the gloat in his voice already.

The EU are loving this....

"Germany's minister for Europe tweeted his delight at the election result. "I'm so proud of young British who voted for # Europe , social justice and solidarity! Cheers! # GE2017" tweeted Michael Roth"

Although I'm pretty sure that the British youth were actually voting for no tuition fees.......

You can keeping discrediting young voters all you like Pete, I'm pretty sure they might have concerns beyond the right to a free education.

I'd love to have seen Corbs cycling up The Mall with all the gear on and chaining his bike to the Palace railings.

Maybe next time.
