UKIP were never a real political force anyway. It's was all Farrage, once he left the party was dead. It's was a nothing farce of a party before he joined and it's a nothing farce of a party now has gone.
Farage like him or loath him made his Polictical disaster by standing down UKIP was entirely him - he will be back , but I feel it will mean nothing for UKIP !

Pretty much this.

No one is going to pretend that this is anything other than a bad result for the Tories and a miscalculation from May, but the objective facts of the result and the constitution of this country says that she has won the first right to form a government.

Labour did well in comparison to their expectation, but expectation is not what decides who governs.

Another season empty handed. But at least they've got champions league.

True but I think he's missed a HUGE opportunity to smash them.

Another 5 years of them in power is a looong time

I don't think there's a cat's chance in hell that whatever arrangement comes out of this will last 5 years, so he may get a 2nd bite at the cherry sooner rather than later.

But, coming off a higher base, I do think that he will find it more difficult to make further inroads at the next election. The expectation will be higher, for one thing, and that in itself creates problems.

Also, I don't think that there's much more he could have done. I actually think that part of Corbyn's appeal has been that he's been such an underdog, and you know how the British people love an underdog. And the youth vote, while amazing, we all know how such large bursts of political energy are difficult to sustain, as we have seen with the SNP falling back. So, I think Corbyn did as well as he could in this election. I'm not saying that he couldn't make further inroads next time around, but it will be more difficult.

All a little bit anticlimactic now. Tories still in government, their polices will still go through and the country will still be screwed.

I hung my hope on Corbyn getting in, and seeing the positive changes from him.

To be honest is that it now? The NHS is getting sold off, Police cut again, rich better off?

I think he'd be better off staying away altogether tbh. He said it himself after Brexit: "UKIP are like the Turkeys who voted for Christmas".

Lots of UKIP's support base only voted for them because They shared a common goal, the push for the referendum but they we're never really committed to the party, once the goal was achieved the alliance was broken and most UKIPers went back to their traditional party's. Farrage achieved his goal of Brexit and he'd be courting disaster to return to politics again. I think he's probably better off sitting at the sidelines with a smug self-satified grin.

They will find it near impossible to get things through! That would mean all the tories agreeing

Never happening

I hope the younger voters continue this now and don't slip back again because of defeat. If any good has comes from this needless election it's that a lot of people who'd never of gotten involved before are now politically interested (even if only very mildly).

All sounds sensible, but I think she may just leave well alone......
She can't cabinet members supporters lost last night the guy who wrote the manefesto lost by 10,000 in Ipswich she will keep power by her boot laces then stand down her position will be untenable even with the DWP a majority of 3?
42percent of the vote higher than Labour in other years would have given her a landslide it's back to two party politics, may just reported has the backing of the DUP - let chaos begin!

Farage isn't stupid. Far from it. He'll look at the the shape of the Brexit negotiations before deciding what to do. Like any good politician he'll get involved if he feels that there is another groundswell of political energy/discontentment that he can harness.

JC Juncker on TV right now.. you can hear the gloat in his voice already.
