Yeah, I didn't listen to it but can imagine it's pretty bad. However, just because a politician can't memorise every number in their manifesto, that doesn't mean to say that the number doesn't exist. I just think it's an easy score for interviewers.

What Corbyn should have done was carry notes, a single A4 page, around with him with the costings on and where the money will come from. Even if the interviewer makes reference to look at his notes wouldn't matter.

You could tell it was an uncomfortable moment for him.The deputy political editor on BBC, just couldn't contain his excitement and I thought he was going to punch the air with his fist shouting, 'we've got him'.

That Women's Hour interview isn't good is it. The thing is with all of these things, it isn't the politicians that will be implementing any of this, so I wouldn't expect them to have an operational handle on matters 'that' much, but they are the ones who ensure the budgets are there. Taxing and spending is their main role, so to not know about either is pretty poor.

For me there is a clear difference with Labour and conservative on this point. Labour have misquoted figures they have clearly laid out in their manifesto, and regardless of what is said, the manifesto has it on record. The Conservatives have just not written anything down so have nothing to be questioned on. Then, as with last night, she just decides that they're going to try and make it sound good by saying they'll run it past everybody first. Surely, by doing that they have absolutely no idea what the outcome will be, and if they do, tell us what you think will be acceptable, or what ranges we are looking to work within.

Do you consider Corbyn more left wing than Michael Foot then? Genuinely interested. I was very young at this time but have an interest in 70s and 80s politics

Almost impossible to answer in a way, given the different worlds we live in. Foot was a high profile MP, unlike Corbyn until a few years back, but their stance on some pet subjects are striking. CND/Trident being the obvious one.

The main difference was that Foot was able to get his "Left Wing" policies into their manifesto, Corbyn hasnt. (The Labour manifesto this time is not "Left Wing, its more of a wish list). Or to put it another way, Foots manifesto was called the Longest Political Suicide Note in History, even Miliband had that god awful Grave Stone thing. Corbyns hasnt been labelled like those two were.

And Foot wore a duffel coat sort of thing to a Remembrance Parade. That probably did for him as much as anything. Like I said, different days.

I'm in two minds about the figures to be honest, as they do have a ring of the kind of projections business folk often put into business plans when looking for a loan or investment. Often they're quite fanciful with little real prospect of being achieved, which is obviously bad, but nonetheless it does show that they have at least given some thought to the matter.

The Tories are no better tbh. I've been quite clear that I think Brexit is a horrendous decision, and especially the hard sort we seem consigned to. We've also had some incredible flip flopping going on in the short time May has been in office. Again, this is double-edged, as if someone changes their mind on account of better evidence becoming available, that's great and to be admired, but they seem to be dumping policies because they were criticised in the papers, which is rubbish.

I've commented before about the apparent fall in standards even from the low standards set by the Brexit campaign, but it's equally sad that the apparent common ground many traditional Tories/Labour/Lib Dem voters seemed to find during the Brexit campaign (whether for or against) seems to have vanished and the same tribal drawbridges have been raised again around St Jeremy or Teresa the Strong. It's only been a short campaign and I'm already sick of it as each day reminds me that one of these chumps will be running the country through the most important period in our recent history.

Lets see how he does in this election, never liked Michael Foot although he was a better orator voted for him,and the momentum movement in the labour party imo makes it a party within a party thats putting me off ok just being honest here , and getting shot down in flames always voted labour ok!
dismayed we have not got a centre ground leader leading the Labour party why did they have a vote of no confidence in Jezza???????????
He stood again, and was voted back in with a voting system that needs looking at!
Not a great lover of May her manifesto was bonkers too!

That's still a million miles from the biggest businesses. I've respect for anyone who sets out in business. It takes a lot more guts than I have. And these sort of guys are the wealth creators, the people who employ and give us a living.

"The people who employ us (but don't pay the living wage) and give us a living (but not on a proper contract)"

Yes sir, yes sir, 3 bags full sir.

I'm pretty sure the point is that he was chatting absolute bubbles about being a labour voter his whole life.

Earns nearly £1m a year, yet scoffs at the thought of raising the minimum wage and scrapping zero hour contracts. Employees must be thrilled.

Labour supporter my arse.

I've respect for anyone who sets up a business, especially if he is from a working class background as he said, and creates wealth.

I've not got respect for anyone who sets up a business and then kicks off on prime time TV because corporation tax might be going up a bit and he might have to pay his staff a wage which they can live on more comfortably.
