It looks to me as though the Tories are basically re-hashing "Project Fear" from the Brexit and Scottish referendum campaigns. I've hardly heard anything from them regarding their own plans other than sound-bites and platitudes. On the BBC web-site it says that earlier today May was asked about the risk of recession if we end up with no deal from the Brexit negotiations. Her response was "I want the best possible deal for Britain and for Brexit to be a success." Honestly, how trite can you get? She then went on to say that Corbyn "wants to get the worst possible deal for Britain at the highest possible cost". I've not heard Corbyn say he is after the worst possible deal. What politician would ever say anything like that? No indication from her on what would constitute a bad deal. I doubt she's given it much thought, but thinks it's a good sound-bite. Not so much strong and stable as vapid and vacuous.

I think an awful lot of folk, folk like me, not tied to any party, and certainly not hating of any of them, are starting to get a bit fed up with that.

Rejoice, Rejoice ........

Today I received a number of election communications from various parties/candidates ......... one of which stated that the candidate was an avid Everton supporter.

As no Loony is standing in my constituency, my path is now clear.

I'm finding the whole thing really depressing. If the Tories get in we'll have a sh*t government, if Labour do we'll get a sh*te one. What a choice. Sh*t or sh*te. Like having to say who you prefer between Ant and Dec.

Which party values do you agree with the most?

Hahahahaha....Emily Thornberry strikes again, saying that we can't export food to Australia because it will go off.....

"Neil Parish, Conservative candidate for Tiverton and Honiton and former chairman of the Commons Environment, Food and Rural Affairs select committee, said: “Yet again, Emily Thornberry is completely out of touch with reality. Australia is already our 12th biggest export market for food and drink and demand is growing fast – because our great British food makes it Down Under in perfect condition.

“These comments would be funny but it is no laughing matter that Jeremy Corbyn and Emily Thornberry could be negotiating Brexit just 11 days after polling day.

“If they don’t think we can export food around the world, they would make an absolute meal of the Brexit negotiations – and we would all pay the price.”

I will be honest mate, I can take a few from all the main ones. I have made a bit of an effort to actually engage with the circus these last few days, and my summary is as follows.

Labour. I like Corbyn, as a bloke. I think the press he gets, whilst exciting for the core Tory vote, actually appals less active floaters like me. But the wish list manifesto reminded a bit of my youth. CBA about whose funeral he went to 35 years ago, but his hold over the PLP worries me. His experience of serious negotiating also concerns me. See below.

Tory. I have said many times, that this GE is all about Brexit. My initial reaction that they would be the best to deliver a half decent deal hasnt exactly been borne out by the flannel May has trotted out. Seriously needs to step up. The less Corbyn bashing the better, imo. Tell me what you will do.

Lib Dem. Again, Fallon(?) comes over well. I like the fact that he is a man of faith, (I am not), but is comfortable in his own skin to acknowledge his religious convictions is something for him, and not something he would put into an election campaign. But in reality, he will probably be irrelevant when the washing is done.

Soz, thats probably wasted a few minutes of your life.

Only source the Express? Wouldn't believe it.
