Sadly, as long as there are people as short-sighted as you, I fear we're doomed to perpetuate the cause and effect.
Riddle me this, though. Imagine an alternative universe without NATO where countries of Western Europe were constantly being invaded, often on utterly false pretences, by, say, an economically advanced Pakistan and Saudi, or else showered in missile and drone strikes that often took out many more innocent people than even died in Manchester this week. Do you think there might be a great anger and resentment in the West towards those counties and their allies? And is it really such a leap of imagination to predict that a small section of Westerners might rally around their Christianity to declare a holy war on the infidels?
Seems ENTIRELY predictable to me.
