I'm not sure. I think people are beginning to realise that violence begets violence. Usually you would expect a surge in support for the Conservatives after an event like this, but Labour appear to be gathering support. Also, you can't equate the IRA with ISIS, very different.

They have already thrown the IRA links at him a few years back.

Imagine an alternative universe without NATO where countries of Western Europe were constantly being invaded, often on utterly false pretences, by, say, an economically advanced Pakistan and Saudi, or else showered in missile and drone strikes that often took out many more innocent people than even died in Manchester this week. Do you think there might be a great anger and resentment in the West towards those counties and their allies? And is it really such a leap of imagination to predict that a small section of Westerners might rally around their Christianity to declare a holy war on the infidels?
