2013 January Transfer Window Thread

.....probably wouldn't have got Stones but for Wigan forcing our hand, which would've left us one down with Gueye out. The fans deserve more and I can't help feeling a bit let down.

Don't see how anybody else can be happy with that, honestly.

It wouldn't have been so bad if the whole Fer saga hadn't happened. We all expected a loan or maybe a cheap signing at best, but as soon as the word was out that we had cash (and a relatively large amount) to spend, all hell broke loose.

Embarrassing that a club who claims to be aiming to improve and win things doesn't have the wherewithal to buy a SINGLE player who can strengthen our first eleven.

4th would have been a possibility if we'd signed a Fer type player, it's going to be extremely difficult now.

As of this morning I was certain something would happen today, whether it be a resurrection of the Fer deal, Negredo, meeting Diame's buyout clause, something. We really have cocked up big style, and like you, i'm not happy with our business today, nothing against Stones, but In doubt he'll add anything to our push for top 4, he probably won't even make an appearance.

What a load of crap.

No successive transfer windows we have tried to sign a central midfielder, and we have ended up with a promising teenage right back.

Same again come August.

Have to agree, the club will come out with the usual drivell tomorrow we tried right up to deadline but I'm afraid its just not good enough. We have a serious chance to break the top 4 this year and still in the Cup it was time to gamble back the manager and get a player or 2 in. Instead they made us a laughing stock again, Everton Fer deal collapses ....Liverpool sign Coutinho ....it was great coming home to that on SSN.

Its time for Bill and the board to have a serious look at themselves. I got the impression that Moyes was really disappointed in the Fer deal not happening last night possibly even that he was against the plug being pulled on it.

Spurs signed Holby for 2m
Arsenal signed a LB ive never heard of
Liverpool signed Sturidge and a crap Brazilian Inter wanted rid of
Chelsea got Ba, Good signing

Not really much going on really unless you look at the bottom end where teams are panic buying trying to dig there way out of trouble

We got in a RB which we needed and would have got a CM if not for a dodgy knee

None of them signing will make them weaker though.

You just have to accept we have been well and truly mugged off.

I defended the club all day today, gave them every chance to live up to my rather modest expectations, to strengthen the squad in midfield or up front by purchasing ONE player to strengthen the team.

Even a loan, a striker to come in and make an impact until May, would have been decent. But not a single signing with the potential to come straight into out first eleven ?

Poor, really poor.
