2013 January Transfer Window Thread

Not surprised we didn't sign any highprofile player, even if we had the money. With the exception of Fer we weren't even close to sign any player for the first team... and I think one of the influential reasons are that Moyes hasn't signed a new contract. Which big player would sign for a team in January when the manager only have a few months left on his contract?? That would be to sign up for a shaky situation since you wouldn't know if the manager will stay and if he left.. would the manager following him use me or keep the promises I was given when I signed?

What a load of crap.

No successive transfer windows we have tried to sign a central midfielder, and we have ended up with a promising teenage right back.

Same again come August.

Agree with the Gueye comments. Personally didn't think he cut the mustard, at least thus far in his time here, but regardless of your opinion on him it's just left us even more short in terms of numbers. Puzzling.

Seriously how the f253 do people expect us to compete when everyone else around us strengthen but all we do is p1sh around with reserve players.
Koff Kenwrong.

United- Zaha
City- No signings
Arsenal- No signings.
Chelsea- Bought Ba for less than they sold Sturridge for.
Spurs- Fryers (undisclosed) and Holtby (£1.5m)
West Brom- No signings.
Liverpool- Sturridge (£12m) and Coutinho (£8.5m).

The RS have some catching up to do but otherwise nearly all of our rivals have resisted the urge to spend. Maybe there's just very little value to be had and clubs don't want to let players go in January?

What was the point in depleting the squad further by sending Gueye out on loan? Especially considering Miralles is perma-injured

THT on twitter saying Moyes left hours ago, it's well and truly dead now. Hate to be bearer of bad news because it is gutting. Just don't be clinging on to the faint hope we've done a last minute deal.

Arsenal got Monreal apparently.

Arsenal got a defender for 12mil

Don't see how anybody else can be happy with that, honestly.

It wouldn't have been so bad if the whole Fer saga hadn't happened. We all expected a loan or maybe a cheap signing at best, but as soon as the word was out that we had cash (and a relatively large amount) to spend, all hell broke loose.

Embarrassing that a club who claims to be aiming to improve and win things doesn't have the wherewithal to buy a SINGLE player who can strengthen our first eleven.

4th would have been a possibility if we'd signed a Fer type player, it's going to be extremely difficult now.
