Wimbledon,if we had lost we wouldnt have been back
It felt like that at the time, but I don't think that would have been the case - it was the definition of a seismic game the way it played out, and if we'd lost it would be like the sky falling in. But throw Mike Walker in a skip (and set it on fire), get Big Joe in and we would have basically come straight back up the next season, IMHO. The same core group of players were easy top half in the prem under Joe.

The one that would have ended us is the Coventry game in 98. The last days of the Johnson regime had put the club on its back, squad was mince, and there was no way we were coming back from a relegation then. Administration a cert and could easy have created a Nottingham Forest or Leeds situation.
Long live Gareth Farrelly.

Difficult to say,we could have ended up with a different manager than Joe,though even when 2-0 down I never really envisaged us dropping, the Coventry game felt like attending a funeral before kick off

Yeah it was a sickener just knowing it wasn't completely in our hands. I wasn't at that match, but I was at the Arsenal game the week before where we were humiliated, men against boys, and just thought we were basically down.

I just did, all our goals were down to them 'throwing it'?...one at least was due to their reliance on the back pass. Sometimes you just get games like that. All their goals were just as daft.

..I was informed about 20 years ago by an old chap very much part of the scenery at Goodison. He was told immediately after the game when in one of the corporate areas. The Grobelaar case came later which in itself adds weight to the comment as does the Dalglish resignation immediately after. Personally, I think some of our goals are questionable but I don’t suppose we’ll ever know.

Semi vs United 2016.

If the board had acted after the Anfield capitulation and sacked Martinez, I'd have no doubt we would have won that game with a more unified squad and fanbase. It took a last second winner to beat us under the worst circumstances. We battered them 2nd half. You saw the difference when Royle/Rhino took temporary charge.

That FA Cup was ours to win, and it'd have changed everything. A 23 year monkey off our back.

Think it was Sheff Wednesday at home and we lost 3-1 when I thought we had no hope, they were down there with us and strolled to an easy win,how the hell the likes of Sunderland and Coventry fans put up with years of that I will never know

I'd like to think it of those rs 2@s...One ( or more ) of those later Grobelaar 'gaffs' were of the 'Weetabix' dive over the ball / Oops types...but I go back to our goals you'd be hard put to tell the difference if it was in B&W and you didn't know who was who. There was nothing overly obvious.
I don't think a true neutral would pick 1 of the 8 over any other for bent

There is a saying about Conspiracy Vs male hen-up...male hen-up every time.
Like I said I would not put any thing past them...nobody has followed the money far enough, that's always a clue.

Heysel is the most seismic.

In recent history I would say Wembley Semi v United.
Countless chances to put them away (Rom's worst ever game). Win that and we have Palace in the final, A good chance the milestone of 20+ years of no success is lifted.

Remember saying this at the time, if we'd sacked him we'd have won it.
