Then you might want to reflect that even this season he's our most effective centre back

He has been awful for the most part tbh, no better than Keane. The last 2 or 3 games plus people's affection for him have made everyone forget Spurs away, Southampton away, Atalanta away, Arsenal at home, United away, among many others off the top of my head. He's had some stinkers, let's face facts. He should be allowed to retire this summer with his reputation intact before it reaches Tim Howard levels of farcical.

Not disputing that his time's up. I just wish we could have these conversations in a way that was more respectful to players who have been and to some extent still are part of the fabric of the club and personally I believe the squad would be weaker without jags. Considering his age that's credit to him. Let's give it where it's due.

Go and take a look at that third goal today and see how those two chuckle heads Jagielka and Baines tried to handle it. Jagielka flat footed on the halfway line; Baines hand up for a flag and static. Then the two shuffle back to the 18 yard box and Jagielka is way off the interception and Baines is sliding on his arse desperate to make up two yards deficit on the scorer.

And here's the worst of it: they'll still be here next season getting regular first team starts....and some fans will be delighted about it.

We are in the 'kin bin.

I thought it was telling when Coleman was screaming at our midfield after City just missed a chance, 3 team mates arguing amongst themselves and Captain Undies was moping around in the background trying to not be seen.

I respect that some thought he was our best player yesterday.

For me, it just shows how poor the rest were.

Thanks for the service Phil, you have been a really good player for us, but it's been a while now.

pmsl no wonder we're a shambles with this fella as our captain

“You begin thinking about the derby very soon after the previous fixture has finished and the excitement and apprehension starts early in the week," Jagielka told evertontv.

"The games are always intense and there is definitely a little bit more of an edge to them – especially if the match is close.

“That is what we will be looking to do: keep it close and, hopefully, get the first goal and go from there."
