Just sums up out society now pretty much, everyone takes offence to everything when it suits their agenda.

I'm sorry but if we are going to hold a 15 year old (or 13 in that jungle lads case) then is there any hope for any of us?

Hell even the pojnt of saying batty boy to one of his mates, ali g said it on tv every episode and that was deemed fine. Yet 15 years later it's wrong for a footballer to have said it as a teenager?

Pathetic, winds me up no end all of this

Thought thi myself

I don't bother with it and sure as hell wouldn't if I was famous, but what example are the FA setting here if they start banning players for this. This opens the door to absolutely anything. Liverpool fans are clearly the saddest people on earth, you have absolutely no life if you're prepared to go through 6 years worth of tweets from a footballer. I can picture it now. All these 10 year old Liverpool fans now going around the school playground with their camera phones on now asking all the other kids to call them a naughty word. They'll keep this video for 12 years and that one boy who called them that offensive word is now a 22 year old footballer for Everton. This sad lonely Liverpool fan takes the video to the FA just after said player has scored their first ever goal and they ask the FA to ban them.

What do they do? Well, we pulled up tweets from a 15 year old, why not prosecute an act of a 10 year old.
It's mental mate. Luckily social media didn't exist when i was 15 - i said and did some seriously stupid and ignorant things like most kids do. As a teenager in the 90's we use to do this thing where i'd go out and socialise with real people, express our opinions and stuf like that. Just like facebook or twitter but without an internet connection.

I’m genuinely a fairly angry person but I’ve rarely been this angry over something , the whole situation is ridiculous.

The media & RS praise Brewster for his bravery standing up to racism , they even have a special segment on the Sunday supplement, The same people then pillory holgate for exactly the same thing . Pathetic miss Marple RS forensically go through his twitter and find offensive language when he was a child and he now faces charges . White middle class journalists compare this ‘viscous assault’ and racist language . The narrative is constantly about the push , when that’s absolutely irrelevant to the allegation. Local media effectively ignoring the story . Story after story undermines holgates position in a classic trump fake news style so everyone thinks they know he’s lying before the fa have even really started .

The whole thing is an absolute disgrace .

If anything Firmino just revealed what kind of character he is for him to say that after being fouled. Sometimes people say ludicrous things when they are drunk but to fly off the handle like that on a football pitch against someone because he pushed you is a very revealing insight into his character. The Daily Mail (who else) are running a story at the moment, apparently they "understand" that Bobby Madley didn't hear anything racist said by Firmino but Holgate's reaction and subsequent allegation after the match means he is extremely genuine about what he heard. The fact that the media are trying to brush this under the carpet is appalling, but not to be unexpected when it comes to them.

Like most are saying, I don’t understand how the FA can punish someone for something they said when they were literally a child. Especially considering, while not particularly pleasant, it was a throwaway comment that he seemingly used in jest as many kids do. If people started getting punished for stupid stuff they did at 15 there’d be no one in a job.

Regardless of punishment, this should serve as a reminder for our young players to wipe their social media before they get in the public eye.

2 separate cases, deal with both by all means. But don't ever use the earlier to mitigate the latter.

Also doesn't previous form only come in at sentencing

2 wrongs never made a right...even allowing for modern day Inflation AND rs journos.

Brewster raises the racism whilst playing against continental opposition and is quite rightly treated as a hero. Holgate raises racism in the English game and is being smeared as a result. It appears that Holgate has poked a hornets nest for the rs dominated football media, and the FA, for having the audacity to complain about a racial issue in the English game and in particular the darlings of the English game. Only today one of the FA stiffs was saying that 'maybe women don't understand banter' in relation to the Aluko racial allegation. Glenn is still trying to but the blame onto a black woman by claiming she doesn't get 'banter'. Let's see if the FA will investigate one of their own for a sexist remark. If the FA Don't come out today, and say that Holgate doesn't have anything to answer about a remark when he was 15, then they are not fit for the purpose of running the game. Likewise, if Glenn 's remark is allowed to be brushed under the carpet, then it shows they are not fit to deal with issues in the correct way.

SJWs everywhere nowadays an it’s only going to get worse! Unfortunately Liverpool fans seem a level above.....they’re the ANTIFA of football :coffee:
