Everton: we look an unhappy camp

oh for the days when we were happy campers as we sat in 14th dropping like a stone under Bobby Bullshine, and we were told by his cultist following not to piss our pants because we'd had a few bad results which is precisely what they are doing now.

you couldnt make it up.

Sissoko pudding sounds like some trendy new dessert for hipsters.
Hm hmm! (Sexy M&S voice)

Traditionally slow cooked Sissoko pudding with pointless runs & horse punching reminisce!
...Badly prepared for the Premier league & served wrapped in a sea of bandages...Perez pork pie!
...Insationably unattainable, yet sexually favourable...baked Juan Mata...with the extravagance of multiple esk sources!
...Roasted Witsel, coated with wild delusions of transfer grandeur & "he's ours" dressing!
...This is not just a transfer window...This is Evertons (under a new billionaire owner) fail of a transfer window!!!

Agreed.

We have had some pretty passionate and mainly civil debate since Saturday.

And you know what.....it certainly does me some good.

I hope it does the same for others....far better than sitting at home fretting about it with no one to understand your pain

We rant, we rave, we vent.....and we get it out of our system.

I am nearly over Saturday already now and looking forward to this coming Sunday 'with some trepidation' ;)

COYBB

1) I filled in for you, the last 3 words you obviously meant to write - but didn't

2) 'I am nearly over Saturday already now and looking forward to this coming Sunday'...why am I hearing these 'not ringing true' words in my head in the voice of the Hal 9000 computer from 2001?

New threads? I hardly ever post new threads on this Everton forum.

Look, the response this thread has got is an indicator that we need to debate WTF is going on with this lot. Even the players are aware a corner needs to be turned, and quick.

Koeman: I've said it enough that he's fire proof in his first season...almost regardless of how bad it may get. You dont sack any manager in their first season as long as we're in no danger. That doesn't mean to say you cant give them a well aimed kick in the bollocks if they say something or do something out of order. This past week or so is just such a time.

Then sack him?

lol

You are right about me looking forward to Sunday with "trepidation" and no mistake :)

The thing is though degsy, once I get a couple of days out the way after a bad result, my focus switches to the next game and I find myself thinking more about this Sunday than Saturday gone :(

It is a coping mechanism I developed early on in my Everton supporting life and it has saved my sanity on far too many occasions this past fifty years and counting ;)

true, I do the same, you get over it or it gets all over you.

what is doing me in is the was people are already bricking it a month out from the Derby...ONE GAME AT A 'KIN TIME please

The fact that we sit in 7th and the players and Ronny arent happy tells its own tale.
ban Davek
We of course should be higher in the table and we have without question "dropped" a few points.
And Damo
We started like a runaway train, but the feel good factor was ripped apart by Chelsea and now its time for certain players to stand up and get noticed. As a club we had a number of years being best of the rest until our last manager came in and ruined the whole club. Its going to take a while to rid the club of the stench of failure left behind and 2x11th place finishes is not the best springboard for success.

We have some very tough games coming up in the next few weeks and we as a fanbase should maybe try and get behind the players and the manager and actually maybe try and support them to the best of our ability. If we can get to January with a fighting chance it will be a perfect time to add some creativity to the squad and then maybe we can kick on from there and claim a Europa spot.

Its not going to be easy, as stated, we have finished in the bottom half of the league for the last 2 years and we have clubs ahead of us in the league much further down the road in terms of projects. A few clubs also have a new manager and are firmly in the transitional period, but they have had MASSIVE squad investment over a number of years and quality players in all areas certainly helps with getting results.

All the whining about the style of football is just meaningless claptrap, we need results first, if we can get results while playing nice football, great, but personally speaking, give me 1-0 bores for the next 5 weeks and I will be singing from the rooftops.

We have a talented manager and some VERY talented footballers who have the ability to get results in all the upcoming games, threads like this agenda filled utter eyesore dont help the healing process and it might be prudent if this thread was locked and deleted.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope it has the desired effect of the mindset of certain aspects of our very misguided fanbase.

NSNO

Fine reasoned, rational...even noble words...but in real terms very low down on the 'buttering parsnips' scale

The rot has been setting in for 8 games now, a few adverse results is not a rot but 8 is getting there...6pts. from 21

Don't pin all your hopes on a January miracle...any new faces have to settle in so we're into Feb and then there's AFCON...and soon it's March...The slide's been sliding, the rots been rotting...or, it has to be said maybe not.

The work on stopping the rot should've started after the Norwich capitulation...maybe it did, but it need stopping NOW, if only to give the brakes time to bite.

The improvement is clearly there. Last season at home Stoke, Swansea and West Ham yielded 0 points, this season we got 7. Think we are 5 points up against last seasons corresponding fixtures which if carried through the season will get us around 12 - 15 points more. Around 60 points would do very nicely for a 1st season.

We are having a bad spell, every team has them at some point. Our problem is we had such a good start some expected that to carry on all season and we'd win the league with a record points haul, doesn't and never has worked like that.

You're joking? Last seasons corresponding games 14 points, this season 19. That's a clear improvement.

Now I'm not saying it couldn't have been better and it should have been after our start but it is still an improvement.

The improvement was a short burst of new manager enthusiasm and my how it's waned and quickly going backwards/reverting to type, so in fact it's probably still in decline and will be for the foreseeable until we hear some money rattling.

So 2 games is quickly going backwards? Before these we had beaten West Ham, lost to Burnley and drew with City which overall could be labelled as average at worst. Think everyone are still just looking at the Chelsea game but we need to forget that now and get on with it. Saturday we came up against a team with the new manager enthusiasm who nicked a lead and sat on it, it happens.
