Everton: we look an unhappy camp

I think you will see the odd young player in the team from now on ie Davies Holgate, now Koeman knows exactly who he needs to get rid off from the experienced bunch. He's meant to be ruthless Koeman and nows the time to show it.

No matter what team plays against Southampton there has to be more movement and desire up front and get someone within 20 yards of lukaku Ffs

Koeman wont play kids unless he is forced to.

If we're going there hoping/expecting Saints to be a bit cream-crackered from their EL trip, then we should go two up front... Mirallas to start with Lennon on the bench. Mirallas to be told to go hell for leather for 60 mins and damn well make things happen.
I'd never play him again, Mirallas. He's a waster.

I think we'll be ok with Lukaku up front on his own as long as he and the two wide players aren't tasked with funnelling behind the ball and starting counter attacks from deep. Southampton seem to need Van Dijk to do a lot of last ditch tackling for them and we can overload against them if we commit bodies forward.

The last 20 minutes of that game should be ours given the Thursday European away tie faced by them.

Southampton will be two days back from an away tie in eastern Europe, so I expect a result here.

Robles
Coleman Williams Mori Oviedo
Barry Gueye
Deulofeu Barkley Lennon
Lukaku

Yes obviously!! What has Oviedo done to warrant a place ahead of baines and Lennon is an impact sub at best. He started Saturday and we might as well have played with 10 men
Oviedo isn't ideal, but I'd play him ahead of Baines. Lennon is someone I'd start but not necessarily finish the game with. Bolasie in reserve to run at a tiring S'ton defence seems more like a better strategy than playing hi from the off.

Oviedo is the weak link and even opposing teams know it that's why they play on him all the time.
My issue is we play a way that leaves Lukaku isolated there is no one close enough to play little one twos or a flick round the corner of the centre half I think Geri in the number 10 role would offer a bigger threat to the opposition. This time last season they were on fire together

Thats because Koeman is an idiot....who matches chelsea under conte with 3 at the back??? insanity...

We need to get coleman and baines well away from.our goal as they cant defend...and this formation has more chance of scoring than the dross we see...Barkley and deulofeu running.between the lines.

Agree mate but he doesn't have to put 3-4 of them in just Davies for a start and give him a 3-4 games see how he goes

He wouldnt do that with Deulofeu despite mirallas looking poor all season and bolasie being about as good as idan tal.

One up front isn't working for us Dave.

We need to go for this game right from the off, hence me suggesting two up front - hit Saints hard right from the off with pace.

Now, whether that's Mirallas (a waster in your opinion) or Bolasie (too erratic in other opinions) or a.n.other is up to RK, but starting with a lone striker in a game we really need to win - given our immediate next six fixtures - would be wrong... in my opinion.
