I think you will see the odd young player in the team from now on ie Davies Holgate, now Koeman knows exactly who he needs to get rid off from the experienced bunch. He's meant to be ruthless Koeman and nows the time to show it.
No matter what team plays against Southampton there has to be more movement and desire up front and get someone within 20 yards of lukaku Ffs
I'd never play him again, Mirallas. He's a waster. If we're going there hoping/expecting Saints to be a bit cream-crackered from their EL trip, then we should go two up front... Mirallas to start with Lennon on the bench. Mirallas to be told to go hell for leather for 60 mins and damn well make things happen.
Yes obviously!! What has Oviedo done to warrant a place ahead of baines and Lennon is an impact sub at best. He started Saturday and we might as well have played with 10 menIn your opinion.
Southampton will be two days back from an away tie in eastern Europe, so I expect a result here.

Barry Gueye

Agree mate but he doesn't have to put 3-4 of them in just Davies for a start and give him a 3-4 games see how he goesKoeman wont play kids unless he is forced to.
Oviedo isn't ideal, but I'd play him ahead of Baines. Lennon is someone I'd start but not necessarily finish the game with. Bolasie in reserve to run at a tiring S'ton defence seems more like a better strategy than playing hi from the off.Yes obviously!! People are discussing this so your post is pretty pointless isn't it.Someone delete this thread! sake!

Oviedo is the weak link and even opposing teams know it that's why they play on him all the time.Oviedo isn't ideal, but I'd play him ahead of Baines. That depends on the score though if Southampton are leading then they won't leave an open pitch they will stay compactOpen pitch and tired legs, Bolasie is ideal
Last time this formation happened Zat, chelsea had a field day

I think we'll be ok with Lukaku up front on his own as long as he and the two wide players aren't tasked with funnelling behind the ball and starting counter attacks from deep. Southampton seem to need Van Dijk to do a lot of last ditch tackling for them and we can overload against them if we commit bodies forward.
The last 20 minutes of that game should be ours given the Thursday European away tie faced by them.
