Everton: we look an unhappy camp

Vast majority of the team are Moyes/Martinez players that's why.

Changing the goalie won't make any difference.

We've conceded less goals with Ashley Williams in central defence (14) than we did with John Stones in central defence at the same stage last season (16), and that's including the 5 we conceded vs Chelsea.

One central midfield ball-winner in Gueye playing alongside an aging Barry and/or a wantaway McCarthy won't make any difference.

A winger in Bolasie who's ill-suited to a pedestrian central midfield and one striker up front who struggles to hold the ball up or work hard for the team won't change anything.

We need at least one first team goalie, one mobile young centre half, two full backs, 2 central midfielders, another winger, and at least 2 strikers.

Successful clubs plan 2-3 transfer windows ahead. A combination of scrambling for players in a transfer window straight away combined with giving established players a chance (and being let down by them) has led to where we are at. The manager and brand new scouting team need time to get players in and can't be judged until after that happens. Koeman is not a rookie manager, he's had relative success elsewhere when he's been given time. He entered the job when we were at a low ebb after two dire seasons under a terrible manager who commanded no respect from his players. Calling for his head after 3 months in the job is absolutely ridiculous.
We want this and we want that...

It's fantasy stuff mate. You think the cash is there to bring those players in without selling our best goalscorer of a generation? We're bailing out as fast as the water comes in.

Koeman: he's been a manager for 17 years. His most impressive achievement is to get Southampton to 6th.

Hm hmm! (Sexy M&S voice)

Traditionally slow cooked Sissoko pudding with pointless runs & horse punching reminisce!
...Badly prepared for the Premier league & served wrapped in a sea of bandages...Perez pork pie!
...Insationably unattainable, yet sexually favourable...baked Juan Mata...with the extravagance of multiple esk sources!
...Roasted Witsel, coated with wild delusions of transfer grandeur & "he's ours" dressing!
...This is not just a transfer window...This is Evertons (under a new billionaire owner) fail of a transfer window!!!

I'm strangely aroused.

Moshiri said: “We have no restrictions to spend."

Dave needs his own Plays Of The Week thread.

You're joking? Last seasons corresponding games 14 points, this season 19. That's a clear improvement.

Now I'm not saying it couldn't have been better and it should have been after our start but it is still an improvement.

No, I am not joking.

You cannot look at football and say "oh we are not doing very well at the moment but is better because we beat such and such a team this season after they beat is last season".

There are variable factors which invalidate such a comparison.

If you go down that road the opposite point of view is that we scored three goals and took a point from Chelsea last season after outplaying them fir most of the game......this year we took a hiding in what was a humiliating defeat.

This is awful at the moment and until I see some improvement I will continue to say we are no better than we were.

That is the only "clear" thing I see, willo :(

6 months not long enough? He's had plenty of time to assess it, load of tosh. He and whoever else made a mess of transfer window, that's the problem, now he's stuck with an under-performing squad that were already under-performing for the previous manager.

Nothing has changed from Martinez last days, nothing, absolutely nothing, that's with his signings in too and his tactics employed on the field.

His "tactics"?

Have you spotted a discernible tactical style :drunk:

Pray tell ;)

I like Deulofeu but he hasn't done a lot when he's been given a chance recently.

Has he really been given a chance?

He is in and out the team.....hauled off one match....brought on for twenty minutes in another.

Happen he needs a run of games to get going......and we know when he does get going he us a heck of a lot more effective than the undroppable £23 million man :drunk:

No, 6 months is not enough, he learnt little before first window, he will have slim pickings over the winters window.. Next summer is when we see if he's learnt about his squad and if he has a plan.. Right now he's doing what he feels is right with the squad he has, next season we will see if he can assemble and use a squad of his design.

This...hes our best winger by miles and yet isnt getting games to show what he can do and add consistency.

Interviewer: So, Ronald you've been here 6months now. How would you describe the style of play and tactics you've brought to the 1st team?

Koeman: But ok. It's what the fans want to see.

Interviewer: So would you class the style and tempo as similar to 'total football' then?

Koeman: But ok. Pressing.

Interviewer: How about once your team has the ball, have you taken anything from your time with Cruyff and other Dutch greats?

Koeman: But ok. Time for golf, ive done my 3 hours today.

....Interview over....

(off camera)

Ronald Koeman: But ok. You see bro? all we need to do is turn up for training and games and tell the players to run around more and these fans at this small club will still cheer my name for at least a season.

Erwin Koeman: But ok. I miss my home on the South Coast.

Ronald Koeman. But ok. Well, the golf is good here and we just need to make sure we get our contracts paid off before we can leave.

Erwin Koeman: But ok. I suppose Blackpool and Southport aren't too bad.

Ronald Koeman: But ok. Plus we only work 3 hours 5 days a week!

Erwin Koeman: But ok. 1 more year.

Ronald Koeman: But ok. Unless we get sacked again like at valencia, then we get all the compo.

Erwin Koeman: But ok. I'll tee off...

Ronald Koeman: But ok. No I'll tee off.
