Jermaine Pennant anyone?

I know a lot of people hate him but he'd be as cheap as chips and we could do with a natural winger. His contract is up at the end of the season and Rafael hates him. I reckon £2m or so could land him.

Thoughts?
No way to many problems and a vdm all over again(n)

Arteta all day for me. Come on Mikel.

We've hijacked this thread well, I'm quite pleased. There is no way Pennant would get in our first team by the way, you nutcase.

I think he would, ahead of Leon Osman who struggles outwide. Although if Osman continues to play like he did against Spurs and City I'd be happy to see him play there.

I'd like to see him have a run in his preffered position before I judge. We've never really seen him do that so it'll be interesting to see. From what I've seen of him over the past few years I'd say very good but he definatly lacks something. But that's on the wing though.

The closest we have to world class is Yakubu and Saha on his day.

Saha? Based on what exactly, he hasnt shown anything remotely world class

I wouldnt spend it mate, i would bring a striker (Possibly Love) in on loan and save the 5m to add to the summer transfer kitty

Fair comment, H. I just hope we can do something in the loan market. And to be fair to Moyes, he has brought in a few belters in the past. It might be the safest way forward.

I think so too, especialy as he can also play as a stirker, im not sure if his circumstances have changed in termsof applying for a work permit.

I think he's had a few more game for Nigeria since then, which would be to our favour. Plus now we can probably argue that our lack of fit strikers is a reason why we need to bring someone like him in on loan. As you say, he can play wing and attack. We'll see, but if we get him, let's hope he is the player we want him to be.
