Ok, I normally refrain from giving my opinion on here when its negative but I am going to for once.

As most on here will know, in the past I have been a big supporter of David Moyes but the air of uncertainty he has cast over the club in recent months has made me look at the situation in another light.

I have been brought up as a fan to understand that no individual is bigger than Everton football club. I'll always believe that. So let me continue....

Lets look at what he has achieved during his time as Everton manager. Whats that your thinking? 'Well, we finished fourth mate....', fair enough, but then look at were that that got us. In the same measure it could be highlighted that under Moyes, we finished a Premier League season with out lowest ever points tally. Theres no doubt as a team we have improved quality wise during his time at the club, no doubt at all. I'll always be thankful for that, his reign as Everton manager has been the best in which I have supported the club but for me, its time for Moyes to either sign his contract, explain why he hasn't or leave.

To me, Moyes has given the impression that he is bigger than the club. Who is he to keep the club waiting? Who is he to cast doubt over the club? Would a player get away with what he has done? Would you sign for a club who's manager wont? It has got to his head, it really has. The 'Moyesiah' and Kenwright constantly singing his praises. Lets just look at the bare facts, success wise he hasn't achieved anything other than doing a job as expected of gradually improving the side, which he has obviously done.

Should Everton now remove the contract from the table? Give him a bit of a smack down to earth? For me he hasnt earned a new contract. Certainly not one to the tune of the reported £60,000 a week. A main concern for me is Moyes' inability to see how a game unfolds....

For me, he seems to have given up on his main role as manager and that is to make the most of the resources he has available, no matter how limited they are. You can blame the board all you like, but for now I want a manager in charge who will make the most of what he has, rather than apparently sulking. I have been giving every reason possible as to why he may not have signed, potential new owners, wanting more money etc... but I am dismissing them all now. This isn't a criticism at Moyes' ability, far from it. But I am just not happy at all with the whole contract situation. At the moment we are a club in limbo, I love Moyes but I get the impression his heart doesnt seem to be in it at the moment and its stemming to the whole club.

Disgruntled, pissed of Evertonian with a knee jerk reaction who will probably retract everything I have said later on. If we put on a poor showing at Liege and still no news regarding contract, I suspect there will be even more, bigger knee jerk reactions.

Today has been a big let down. We can complain about the red card all we want, but we didn't really look like getting a result today. We had some good chances in the first half but they controlled large parts of the match. You could argue that we didn't really look like threatening the top four last season too but you would like to think we would have improved over last season and it seems clear at the moment that big improvements are required.

The tactics has been piss poor for alot of his time here to be honest, it improved last season a little but we've gone back to square one.

I'm thinking Moyes will never be able to give us good consistent football, he just isn't that type of manager. He's a percentages manager in the Sam Allardyce mould.

The Neville, Hibbert and Jagielka's of this world aren't great footballers by any means but they can be taught to keep a ball in the right system with the right tactics. FFS even Tony Mowbray would get them playing football at West Brom, it really isn't that hard.

We only ever play well when Pienaar, Arteta and Osman are in the team together, if any of our key players get injured we revert to the long ball. It's Moyes's mentality, he does not preach good football and never will do.

Moyes' tactics has been [Poor language removed] this season. If he had £15 million to spend he made a terrible buy. Honestly...im surprised people are still supporting him so much. I wouldnt be as angry if he signed the contract, but with him not signing, just makes me want him to [Poor language removed] off.

well let me take the other side of the fence.

i'm praying that moyes does not leave, as we have had for the last 5 years some respect at last coming our way. we are no longer 'soft touch' everton but a team who are pretty much the 5th best team in the land.

we all know who our players are, but perhaps we need reminding that hibbert is the only player who remains from the previous manager. one player! that is because under the previous we had way too much dead wood, and past it players.

now we have a squad that is young and competitive in every position. sure we have had a [Poor language removed] start, but these are the same players who qualifyed for the uefa 2 years on the trot through league placings. they are not [Poor language removed] players and moyes is not a [Poor language removed] manager.

if moyes left, i dread to think who would come in. venables? coppell? and we really do have players who would interest other teams if a new manager wanted to build his own team. arteta, yakubu, lescott.. if sold could we really replace players of that quality? i personally doubt it.

of course, no one man is bigger than the club. but if moyes were to leave, the club we know and love would diminish in size. it would shrink back in to it's 90's shell and perhaps not re-surface for 20 years. or more.

moyes' tactics today were poor. and there have been plenty of individual errors this season. but just as one swallow does not make a summer, one poor start to a season does not a jedi make of a youngling.

if moyes stays, we will improve, get better and play good football.

if he leaves we will enter a dark age that, in this financial climate of the game, could have sheffield wednesday consequences.

IMWT, and most importantly remember, pineapple on pizza is wrong.

hmmm... my conclusion got away from me there a bit.....

remember... we are evertonians, we are unique, chosen, special..

and as tx bill would have us all believe, the night is always darkest before the dawn.

pteppicymon out.

I routinely ignored all those rumours that Moyes was stalling because he was waiting on an offer from elsewhere. Now I'm inclined to believe them.
Although why anyone would want to top £60,000k a week for a manage who field splayers who are not properly fit and doesn't know how or when to use substitutes is beyond me.

I would love moyes to stay but he needs to show us committment by signing this contract.
I believe he has seen kenshite for what he really is and is waiting to see if we get taken over.
It would be a very black day if moysie walked out on us.

A very good post on bluekipper i think: sums up what i think...

Time to look at Moyes lads.

He has achieved [Poor language removed] all in his time here. Sure, we finished 4th (and look at how we got on...) but in the same breath, we have finished a season with our lowest ever tally under him.

Who the [Poor language removed] is he to put an air of uncertainty to the club? Either sign the contract or explain why you havent... or [Poor language removed] off.

His inability to see how a game unfolds is most concerning. I mean - how did Osman remain on the pitch today for so long? Vaughan/Saha should have been on early.

He has given up on his priority which is to do the best with the resources available.

Yes its abit negative...but what hes on about is partly true...

Yakubu wound me up no end today, I know that moving and grafting isn't his thing but if he won't do it in a derby then why start him?

He plays alot better with a partner especially if we're humping long balls up there, Saha wins us a few headers I've noticed so atleast we don't have to be aiming for Yak's chest.

I am not saying that there are not better managers,But I dont think we can attract them so lets keep Dave, for similar reasons like he will not attract a bigger club he should sign(y)

Yakubu did what he could to be honest, he's never going to run around. Don't expect it from him because it won't happen.

We started him because he can get a goal and he's our most important player, it's Moyes who people should be looking at. The tactics where shocking and no one would have faired any better upfront.

There's nothing - and I mean nothing - like a defeat against those shower of f**king C**ts that gets reasonable people making unreasonable statements. For us now to turn on Moyes is way off beam. I'm totally gutted at the moment, but I wont lose my head and blame our current position on a man who has his limitations but has dragged us almost single-handedly by force of will in the absence of being backed by mega-bucks to the point were pundits were expecting us to worry the SKY 4 this season.

We will get beat against Liege and our season will be over pretty much by Thursday. I'm of the opinion that Moyes should walk at that point. To stay on would be to shatter his credibility. True supporters will know exactly the reason why he would have taken that decision and where the blame lies for us going backwards - and it doesn't lie with the playing staff and management.

If you want Moyes out, fair enough. But please dont point the finger and say we are where we are because he hasn't signed a contract. I think he deserves a bit more respect than that after 6 years of toil at a club run off the pitch like a pub team.
