2025/26 David Moyes

Said all the right things about ambition and then couldn’t get Kenny Tete to leave Fulham.
Mate come on, we’re not in Europe and it’s just an absolute fact that no player in the world will sign for you if you’re not in Europe. You could offer them £500k a week but if Lincoln red imps come in for them and give them the chance to play in the conference league what can you do?

The problem with the current "stability" is that it is an extension of Bill Kenwright's Everton. If ever a club needed a cultural purge, it is us. But what was the first thing our competent professionals decided to do? Install Bill Kenwright's dream choice of manager.

And we expect change?

Moyes did a good job last season. He should have been profusely thanked and moved on in May. But these new owners were completely unprepared and wasted a summer getting their backroom boys appointed. We are wasting a year with the Kenwright status quo.
The entire Kenwright/Moyes era needs purging ruthlessly from the club and just as importantly from the fanbase.

None of them, because none should have been hired, Benitez in particular after we allowed Ancelotti to walk away. What we should have done was get a progressive manager and gave him 2-3 years which is what should happen when Moyes leaves again
I completely agree. I think Moyes gets the season and not a second longer. Go for Glasner when his contract runs out. If that fails then pick some other manager that doesn’t have a PL relegation on their CV

I think Moyes needs to go back to something that works in the past and also make a few tweaks.

KDH when I’ve seen him run games for Leicester is a box to box midfielder. He admits it’s his strongest position. Not a number 10. Play him there.

Alcaraz is a 10 and should play there also. It worked last season. It worked against palace and looked better.
Play him there.

Play 3 central defenders at the back. Jimmy and Mykolenko as wingbacks. No choice on Mykolenko as the young lad from Bayern isn’t ready.

Midfield of KDH, Idrissa Grealish

Alcaraz at number 10

Ndiaye up front. I’ve seen enough of Beto

Problem that needs working on as things need to change

Pickford does not command his box. He’s a great shot stopper and has pulled off some incredible saves but defending crosses is a weakness and it showed tonight.
Get the centre half’s working on crosses

Our squad is light. We need something different though.

Weird attitude post match. Seemed thoroughly peed off but yet apparently it was a good performance (ignoring the 3 soft goals).

The demeanour of a man possibly that has realised he had the final sign off on the spending of a miniature war-chest, and maybe got a bit excited, going a season too soon for the young, development prospects that will contribute very little in a very tight PL season.

My fear , next Monday he's going to opt with the same starting 11 despite the result. I think he's way too comfortable with this lineup and it's not effective enough on a consistent basis.
Think he could do with taking them away on the next international break, get a bit more harmony in the squad, tell them all its a fresh start and its down to them to earn their place, but he needs to take the same approach, a fresh start, with no set in stone guarantees, if your not performing, your not starting..

Think it just reaffirms to me, that he is not the man to lead us in the long term, perhaps even mid-term.

I saw a well oiled and drilled Spurs team come here and do what they needed to do, we tried but it was all one dimensional. The build up is poisoningly slow.

For me, we rode our luck against Brighton & Palace, then struggled to beat a poor Villa & West Ham.

I feel we never change the way we play and would love him to mix it up. KDH as a 6. Play the two strikers at 2-0 down.

If i am the board, I hope they had a private word with Glasner a couple of weeks ago (however unlikely). I am not for being trigger happy, but I hope the review for his replacemebt is under way, and we can find our own Iraola/Glasner.

3-0 is a ridiculous scoreline for a game we deserved to win.

No point in blaming the manager. Its the owners who left us with the worst forward line in the league and utterly toothless

Once again, I feel cheated by the officials...

We conceded set play goals. The actual open play was quite even and in some ways in our favour.

The same eleven outplayed them by a fair margin in the second half. Gana was much, much better second half, so whatever adjustments and conversations were had did the trick.

We lost that match because we failed to handle them defensively at corner kicks. But you don’t fix that making substitutions.

A ridiculously flattering result let alone scoreline which completely turned on the referee who let one team do what they want from corners and the other not.

Ndiaye was again good and was arguably the best player on the pitch again for the second loss in a row. Being given offside from a corner that is headed straight in is a new one on me and both the Tottenham set piece goals had fouls albeit slight on the goalkeeper whereas I counted at least two occasions where Everton players were manhandled and obstructed at corners and that crank Pawson did absolutely nothing.

He needs to be called out for that as it is clear he has agenda against us.

Let’s be honest here

Spurs were crap

They scored two corners, sat back and rode their luck

On another day Beto scores that overhead kick, our goal isn’t disallowed and we get a blatant penalty for that foul on gueye in the box

Corruption won today boys

Fine margins in football and the desire from their players vs ours on the corners were the difference. They defended for their lives and we weakly allowed van Der Ven to get in ahead of us.

Thought there were encouraging signs today, just a frustrating day. Spurs were lethal but was very unimpressed with them in general and I'd say we were the better team on the day.

We need to avoid defeat at Sunderland and beat Fulham at home and kick on from there.

We need a striker and a set piece coach maybe. But being honest our football is way better than the Pre Moyes mess. They were under the cosh but we just dont have goalscorers which we knew from minute dot. Need another summer.

You must be, because the football is way better now that it was under Dyche and Lampard! It’s not perfect but it’s better by some distance, to claim it’s not just fits the anti Moyes agenda!

Question for those revelling at the moment, do you want this club to have stability or just keep jumping on and off the merry go round every 6-12 months?

Really don't think we need to overreact to this result. We played really well, we had plenty of chances and on another day they go in.

Annoying that we conceded from set pieces, but to be fair, they were putting brilliant balls in.

O'Brien's disallowed goal changed the game of course. Nonsense decision. Only somebody who has never actually played football could make that call.

I don’t think there was too much wrong today apart from the set pieces. It was one of those weird, frustrating games.

I beg to differ. Stick someone like Ivan Toney upfront for us this season and we’d be top 4.

They weren't.

Very, very even game although I accept that the scoreline doesn't support that argument

He will bring to our club what we need right now. Stability. If that means mid table finishes, without the worry of relegation, for the next couple of seasons, then I'm all in. Probs too many commas

We're labelling singular posters a "faction" now? Sounds very reasonable.

I'd suggest if it's one person that the hyperbole you offered last week of this substantial faction absolving Moyes of guilt for all defeats was entirely in your head pal.
Fewer excuses than after Wolves, I think the worm has turned for quite a few after today but certainly plenty saying we played well, or the problem is the owners, or the players, or the referees, or the mythical conspiracy against us. More than one poster, although @JobForTheMoyes is still fighting the good fight more than most, despite his statements to the contrary. The we'd be top 4 with Ivan Toney is my personal favourite.
