Fewer excuses than after Wolves, I think the worm has turned for quite a few after today but certainly plenty saying we played well, or the problem is the owners, or the players, or the referees, or the mythical conspiracy against us. More than one poster, although @JobForTheMoyes is still fighting the good fight more than most, despite his statements to the contrary. The we'd be top 4 with Ivan Toney is my personal favourite.

Some of it is very rose tinted glasses stuff. I do wonder how much is motivated from protecting Moyes reputation and how much of it is people fuming at the referee.

A lot of it is fair tbh, on another day with another referee we maybe get the O'Brien goal and equalize and go on to win. I do think the referee is a factor there but after 2-0 we were finished and Moyes did nothing to change it.

We did create chances we didn't score but the defending for those corners was really poor and that's on coaching for me.

Hes not looking very "robust" to me.

I could take Moyes as manager for the short term (I wouldn't be happy but I could live with it) but putting him in charge of transfers & ditching the DOF role was a massive no from me. I think the club has made a massive error on that front.

That was clear and obvious wasnt it.

Funnily enough, the players that posters are complaining about e.g Aznou, Dibling and Barry I think have a good chance to develop and improve over the season.

KDH & Rohl all-in would be £42.5mil.

Thats enough to sign one quality CM to play alongside Garner.

I've no idea why we've stopped being more direct but it's very noticeable and it's extremely boring to watch.

We spent less than the league average and had to spread 116M over nine players. We also ranked ninth in the league in terms of spend, despite having to replace many players to have a squad.

Where has the £116mil come from because it seems like a fair bit more to me.

I like Jack, he seems a great lad but he slows the team down and tbh I hope we don't sign him on a permanent deal. We should be using him this year as a mentor for Dibling then let him go and Tyler step up.

That should be the plan.

Its incredibly one dimensional and boring to watch compared with Ndiaye on the right.

If Ndiaye was on the left id wager he'd have a few more goals cutting inside.

Cos we've brought Grealish and KDH in to the team, neither are direct players, so build up will always be slower paced. Add Alcaraz into it with Illy and you balance it out.

Whoever has signed off on the majority of the budget going on Barry and Dibling who he won't trust to start deserves questioning.

If everybody could take 1 player out of the starting line up, I wonder if most people could all agree on the same player..

Weird attitude post match. Seemed thoroughly peed off but yet apparently it was a good performance (ignoring the 3 soft goals).

The demeanour of a man possibly that has realised he had the final sign off on the spending of a miniature war-chest, and maybe got a bit excited, going a season too soon for the young, development prospects that will contribute very little in a very tight PL season.

I'm not surprised, You are being very silly on KDH Zat. He never asked to play there and has said its not his best role yet is still up there for created chances, passes into the final third etc,etc. Its on Moyes that not the player, and he loves a square peg in a round hole, it must be the Scottish version of total football or something. Yes Rohl has had a few injuries but if we can get on top of it (he is fit now) and manage his minutes then he is 100% our best midfielder by a mile. Branthwaite doesn't look especially robust these days and I doubt you want rid of him.

17.5 m is the loan to buy fee. So that would be due out of next summer’s budget.

Barry looks unlikely to trigger many clauses to raise his fee at the moment! In fact, paying the higher fee would be preferable as it would mean he is actually scoring some goals.

Grealish and Dewsbury Hill are nailed on Moyes signings. No way Moyes in charge of transfers goes for Barry Dibling Anzou, development is not his thing, never has been.

We were unlucky in that one, no question, and it was never a 3-0 defeat kind of game. But the way we are setting up means we are sacrificing the fine margins, which means things like this will happen.

Moyes's management of Tyler Dibling and Thierno Barry has been poor to this point. Fair enough they are "signings for the future" but they can not develop with the way they are currently being handled, and both must be at a low ebb of confidence. There is zero sense in starting Beto ahead of Barry in most of these games as Beto is an inferior footballer with inferior potential. It's trickier for Dibling as Ndiaye is playing so well on the right, but Ndiaye also tends to run out of steam an hour or so in which is when we should be seeing Dibling most weeks. The formation could also change, or the ineffective KDH could move deeper to replace the ineffective James Garner. There are lots of things that could be tweaked to get more out of this team right now, while also setting it up for the future that these signings are apparently for.

I'm not going to freak out about results or even a final league placing this season, bar total disaster, because that's not what this season is about. But there does need to be an element of progress, and that's not going to come while our brightest (or at least most expensive) young talents rot on the bench all season.

As frustrated as I am with Moyes, let's kid ourselves that a new manager massively changes things. They're still going to need to play either Barry or Beto and Mykolenko still starts every game at left back. Those two positions alone massively limit what this team is capable of doing. There's quite a few other players not good enough for the top 10 either.

It's going to be a frustrating up and down season but lower mid table is where we probably should be. Just listen to the atmosphere at the start of the 2nd half. No one really thought we could get back into it. If we did, the stadium would've been bouncing.

I hear you but Barry has put in some shocking performances. So bad that you couldn't justify starting him the next game. If Moyes did play him more, then we'd all say he's ruining the lad's confidence. There's no easy answer to a young player that was brought in to start most games but clearly isn't ready yet.

He'll probably start up at Sunderland after a better cameo yesterday, but we can't honestly say that'll likely go well.
