...if Silva wanted him, he wouldn’t have been sent on loan.
Disagree with that. We have Sidibe on a year's loan to cover Coleman.

At the end of this season, Coleman will be a year older. Kenny was a reliable back-up. Now he gets the chance to gain experience in a proper league for a proper team and to prove if he can be more.

(I'll translate them for tomorrow morning, but the Schalke forums are currently full of fans dying to buy him off us and worrying that they won't be able to afford him even if he is for sale.)

....with Everton, i’m of an opinion that Academy loanees generally have no future at the club. I reckon only Barkley and Osman have gone on loan and subsequently played 50 games for the club, and both of those had major injuries at key stages in their development.

If i’m a manager, I want the best players available to me. If I send Kenny on loan, it means I don’t want him as back-up. It means I think we can bring in better. Silva said he wanted to bring in a RB for competition with Coleman. It’s a results game, he wants players he likes, he wants players he rates. He’s not thinking next season.

I might be wrong, but I doubt Kenny will play for us next season.

What if he wants him after the loan?

...that would be fine, but i’m thinking about our history with loanees and Silva’s recent comments. Academy loanees who are sent on loan, generally don’t have a future at the club. Kenny is a little different, in that he’s come into the first team and then been sent out, like Galloway, Garbutt and even James Vaughan.

Silva said he wants competition for Coleman. That suggests he doesn’t see Kenny as competition for Coleman. Silva has said, he wants a new RB. Silva won’t be thinking long-term.

The only positive thought I have for Kenny is Brands. Brands might be thinking strategically. I really like Kenny but I doubt we’ll ever see him back here, especially if he does well.

Hopefully Marcel will know the score and realise it might be wiser to keep Kenny than sign Sidibe at the end of the season.
Obviously this all depends on how their respective loans go

...I doubt Sidebe or Kenny are in Brands long-term thoughts, unless the Frenchman improves significantly (which he might do).

Im pretty confident that Silva said he wanted Kenny to go on loan for a season then compare how he and Sidibe have done at the end of the seaaon.

My view is that one of Coleman / Kenny should be a sub next season with a new starter signed.

I wouldnt be surprised to see Kenny on loan next season as well + Coleman and a new signing play next season with Kenny returning the season after.
