Yobo gone

We've had, and will get the same crap in match threads throughout the season, summers got nothing to do with it.

I'll probably get moaned at for going off topic, but you know, maybe i should talk about doing backflips off buildings or something.
I wasn't having a go tbh mate, more trying to say its probably worth bearing in mind it's off season and people are restless. I think maybe the standard of the forum will pick up in the season, I hope it does. You just get an influx of dopey transfer rumours and a bit of squabbling over how people think the best way forward is and idiocy just does increase.

Its a shame that this kind of ****e is becoming a hallmark of this forum these days. Some idiot makes a gimmick account, be it a regular or a newcomer and posts absolute ****e while everyone creams themselves going "Oh changy you're so great".

We used to talk about Everton and run the idiots off the forum (see Blue, Halewood). Now they're encouraged from the top down.

But its all popcorn and lolz.

Just do what I do mate, neg rep them daily and ignore the utter bells.

Nice one mate

I liked Yobo in his first times at Everton, he was a class centre back. But later he just didn't hit that level. It was time to finally sell him.

Perhaps there's a "Favourite Yobo Moment" thread out there somewhere but I can't find it. He scored a few thumping headers over the years but my favourite moment came when he was still a loan player with us in one of his earlier games at Goodison. He was chasing a ball with the opposition CF towards the Street End and just looped the ball over his head and accelerated away as if it was the most natural thing for a CB to do. It got a massive "Ooooooo" from the Old Lady followed by a lot of giggles because somewhere, somewhere deep inside, we knew that it wasn't the most natural thing for him to.

I could get a cap for belgium. When was the last time they ever qualified for anything?

Ahh, you're Belgian, that explains everything, If that offends any Belgians on here i couldn't give a flying ........

This is the only kind of cap you'd ever be given, mate.

I think that when Joe Yobo first came to Everton he looked like as if he would in time turn into a top class defender. However,I don't think he ever fulfilled the potential that we first saw.He was liable to make silly mistakes right up to the end and it was only his speed and athleticism which enabled him to recover from some of the mistakes that he was making.
I think that at some point David Moyes changed from regarding Joe Yobo as a first team player to being a squad player and Joe Yobo couldn't accept this and thereafter the relationship soured.
Of course there was also the Everton supporter tendency to overestmate the ability of the player. At one stage we were led to believe that Arsenal wanted the player and we were struggling to keep him.At the end we saw the real truth in that we struggled to find anybody to take him.Yes he was on a big wage at Everton, but I expect that for CL clubs it wouldn't have been considered a huge salary.

It was the joining up with Nigeria before the ANC and not playing for us that sealed it.
