I wouldn't argue with that. Well actually it's positioning but acceleration is more important than top speed.

That's kind of irrelevant though.

Got to say I'm not getting the Zouma love so far I can see why he didn't stop Stoke going down and Chelsea prefer a geriatric Gary Cahill.

He's been hit and miss. There's been games he's been great. Other games like West Ham he was rank bad. In the last couple of games he's been good again. All about finding our best duo. I'd say it's probably going to be Mina and Zouma but it's good that Keane has been doing better this year. I'd keep them together this week.

I think Mina and Keane will end up as our starting 2. Hopefully that’ll improve our set piece defending (our main source of goals conceded so far) and get us goals at the other end.

It is likely to make us more susceptible to counter attacks though so Silva will need to work on that.

It's nice that we're actually able to have a genuine discussion whether we believe that we will have either Mina and Keane, Mina and Zouma or Zouma and Keane.

Keane has improved significantly since last season, Zouma has the mainstay been good (in my opinion of course) and Mina is an exciting prospect coming in.

There's obviously also Holgate, so we've finally got solid options at the back who are performing. If one seems to wane, then we have suitable alternatives.

I can remember pretty much the opposite. In fact's Keane's pace has got him out of trouble on a few occasions when he's been turned too easily or caught out of position.

Zouma is't a slouch but there's no discernible gap in pace between the two.
beauty of free speech and right to air an opinion in action there then :)
Personally i'd judge zouma to be quicker, you think the opposite (as you're entitled to), as long as they both contribute to us earning points i don't really care tbh

Is Mina pacey? If so it could be an ideal Jagielka / Distin like combo.

is there any case for a back 3? Not sure if Silva's ever played one and we probably shouldn't change the formation now or sacrifice other areas of the pitch.

He was Silva’s first choice and came at a big price. I’ve got a feeling he’ll get a bit of the Digne Bernard treatment at first until up to speed but once he is there won’t be any sentimentality from Silva in making him first choice just like there wasn’t when he ditched Baines.

I wouldn't expect sentimentality from the manager, what I would expect is for him to play players who are in form. No point dropping Zouma or Keane at this moment in time. As long as they keep playing well then Mina will be sitting on the subs bench until otherwise.

Keane's attempts as the last man to pull back Vardy by the arm would suggest otherwise.

On the contrary mate , Keane done exactly what he should have done.
Once Vardy is past his man there is no catching him. Keane kept with him and done just enough to put him off & stop him having a clear run on goal without giving a dangerous foul away.
Thought he done very well on that occasion and is very much improved this season. Does not deserve to be dropped.

Exactly what I've been thinking. Looks like a headless chicken most of the time. Maybe there's a reason he played for Stoke and can't get in the Chelsea team? Keane has looked far better this this season.

If Vardy had pushed on into the box then played the old soldier and gone down,penalty/red card you might have seen it differently.Keane is an accident waiting to happen every match. He just doesn't read the game on any level.

Dont know what more you think ANY defender can do in that situation.

He done exactly what I hoped he would do....prevent a near certain goal.
