Would you take a draw?

Take a draw now?

Totally agree with all this. Unfortunately we've been saying the same thing for almost 20 years now, getting our hopes up, only to be disappointed lol
I know exactly where you're coming from mate. Said on a different thread that I could easily end up hiding behind the sofa rather than watching tv come Saturday, depending upon which team/set up RK decides on.:)

But I was answering the OP, which asked should we accept a point now, without a ball being kicked. Don't get me wrong. A draw at the pit should be considered a good result. Better teams than us have gone there this season and had their balls handed to them on a plate, worse teams have gone there and won. But there are three things that Liverpool under Klopp have shown on numerous times this season. If you get men behind the ball you can frustrate their high tempo pressing game, they have no Plan B, and they are vulnerable to the counter attack. If RK picks the right team and employs the right tactics, we have a fantastic opportunity to beat them on Saturday.

My concern is that RK may not pick the right team. I think this is one of those games where you need to go for legs over experience. However with the injuries to experienced players like Coleman and Schneids, I have a feeling that Koeman may play the likes of Jagielka and Barry and I think this will play right into Liverpool's hands. Hopefully he will have learned something from the Spurs game but we'll have to wait and see.

1 point is better than the zero points we are going to get.

RS is the one team I genuinely do not think we will ever beat in any of us current GOTers' lifetime.

They have some Faustian deal going on...

If there's one thing that winds me up about being an Evertonian it's the attitude of 'shall we take a draw' in the derby. Since when do we feel inferior to them even if the team is absolutely [Poor language removed]???

Every derby, play to win, 100% commitment. Anything less don't bother turning up and that goes for supporters as well as players.

What's our [Poor language removed] name?

I wouldn't be unhappy with a draw like but they are absolutely terrible at the back and we are boss going forward, just go for it something we never ever do away at the "top teams" absolutely nothing to lose, give us a derby win for the first time in 7 years ( how is that even possible considering how close we are in the league most years )
I'd normally agree with you mate and think we should definitely go into the games against Man U, Arse and even Chelsea with a less defensive attitude than RK normally employs against the top teams. However I believe Liverpool is the exception to this rule. They have a better records against top teams than they do against lesser teams for a reason. We need to exploit that if we want to come away with all 3 points in my opinion.

Don't know if anybody has read about our recent derby match record but on that alone I wouldn't take a draw. If we fail to win it will be our longest ever run in our entire history without a win if you include the 2012 semi final. If we had won two of the last six or something I would take a draw but in this instance it would just leave the RS as top dogs as usual I.e "you still can't beat us".
Lets face it we will set up not to lose and still concede 3.

Go there with a proper attitude and a plan to win it, then give it our best shot.
If we go like Vs Spurs A; KITAP1...might as well not bother
Koeman sorts this tactically and he's well justified his 6M.

Imagine the antics from klippity worzel on the line

I want a win, no question.
But I would take a draw now before a ball is kicked.
We haven't won there since 1999 and haven't won a derby since 2010, its a horrible record that I hope comes to an end on Saturday, 0-3, Lukaku, Barkley and Davies. But I am a realist and would take coming away with a point.

Absolutely not, no. The trophy drought is one thing and in some ways explainable but the derby record this century is unforgivable. As much as Jags injury time goal was great it still felt slightly empty to me as it was only a draw and the years without a win at Anfield was prolonged.
