Would you see Rodwell go for 30m?

Gibson for me is a cracking young player, still only 23, i do feel if we got him we could end up getting the better deal. Obertan is another one who hasn't really had many opportunities there, and could be given the shove, but he'd certainly inject a bit of pace into the team, something we are sadly lacking.

Welbeck for me is the next Defoe but he'll never get in at United with Rooney, Hernandez and Berbatov ahead of him. All 3 are realistic to be included in, given they've got less than 10 starts between them at United this season (obviously Welbeck has been out on loan and done quite well).

The risk is minimal for all 3. And i don't think we could find 3 young players of their quality for what we'd lose on the Rodwell deal if they were included. £10-15m plus those 3 would be unbelievable business on our part.

I think that with the money from Rodders we'll be steping forward just like we did with the Rooney money.

20 mill and a couple of players we need numbers in now and i suspect this is going to be the case for a few years yet unless BK sells up.

I just hope it doesnt drag on all summer and we end up selling him on deadline day as i say we need bodies in.

we scored with a long range shot the other night and ozzie had a few pops as well............ just sayin

Ah yeah, who needs players like Gibson when we've got Osman drilling those 25yd 'thunderbolts' once in a while.

it just seems an odd time to high-light our `not shooting from distance` after all the shots we had against Birmingham......just sayin

If he goes we truely are a club in decline.

We're a club in decline whether he stays or goes mate. Every year each player gets a year older, Neville, Distin, Cahill and Saha aren't going to get any better, and we've got no money to bring in reinforcements. Until that changes we'll forever be a mid-table selling club at best. Thats the grim reality.

we`ve had a bad season is all, we have progressed for sure over the last 8-9 yrs, its leaping to the next level which is a mammoth task. is it wortrh risking a leeds/portsmouth type gamble which would surely fail as opposed to steady progress. keep the faith cooker and shave that freakin muzzy off

In reality the players you mention and quite a few others are on big contracts, i think its safe to say that this season quite a few havnt justified them. I think it would be no harm in the summer to do a cost benift analysis.

Not read all the posts but IMO it'll happen and can only benefit both the player and the club. We get money to either invest in new players or to pay off some of the debt or a mixture of both. I like Rodwell but at the moment I don't think he's living up to to his potential. You only have to look at Wilshire for Arsenal, I think there both the same age, and I know which one I would want in my team and it isn't Rodwell.
It'll benefit Rodwell he'll get to play champions league football, challenge for the premiership and get a higher profile for his England future.

Like other people I worry more about losing Fellaini because, at this moment, Rodwell can't replace him.

So if it's a done deal let it be done.
