Worst Everton Moment

For me, the semi was horrific and takes the prize. Villareal hurt for the longest though. Still does. We need qualify for the CL group stage before I can properly let that one go. The 3-0 Derby last year was up there. If we finish 7th/8th, don't win anything and Moyes goes, then this summer will take the biscuit though.

A different one would have to be Ashley Young's winner right after we equalised. I wanted to throttle that little weapon for the way he celebrated his goals. This was at the time I hated Villa almost as much as the RS. Their fans were tits, O'Neill was a tit and Young was well on his way to being the league's Suarez before he got to United and realised he was sh*te and wound it in a bit.

Always been RS games going all the way back to the 60s.

They beat us 3-0 at Goodison someone called Bobby graham scored 2 and that was the die cast, they'd buy these no marks who do nothing in their careers bar score the winner against us, some lanky tit called Alan Waddle was another.

I stopped going to Derbies or watching live on telly after standing on the kop with 5 blues and Fairclough (supersub) come on and scored with a few mins to go them winning 1-0, - If there is a hell that is it - standing dumbstruck as thousands of the feckers pulled your scarf flicked the vees and generally ripped in culminating in ynwa.

Missed the cup finals and semis - absolutely nailed on what happens.

Young lads saying why give a fook about them really have no idea.

To young to really take in the 89 final, but hurts like hell just watching highlights.

Had a video "Everton: The Pain and The Passion" - all the pain seemed to be Liverpool based, should have been sold as a Liverpool video.

I'm not going to read the thread for fear of topping myself. But failing to qualify for the Champions League, losing the FA Cup Final to Chelsea and the roll over in the FA Cup semi against the RS were painful.

For me it was Rooney leaving.... He was our young superstar that everyone wanted, he was a blue and was gonna have a team built around him just as l'pool had done with Gerrard...he'd flashed the once a blue t-shirt and bill had said he wouldn't even be sold for 50M...

Then boom!! Utd agree fee for Rooney!! Was gutted, remember watching him not long after for utd in his first CL game scoring a hat-trick...was awful seeing that.

The game where Moyes rested players v the derby for me.

Do you know it's funny that, I know and clearly that is a real sore one with a lot of supporters but it really didn't bother me... He chose to rest players and I understood why with the cup match pending and that lot picked up a cheap win against us..,so what?!?! I just cared about the cup at the time, that match was just collateral damage IMO.

Now the players bottling it second half of the semi pissed me off somewhat!!

We would have been title contenders if we kept Rooney the following season. Such a shame.

I think it hurts more when you are younger.

For me it's Mick Lyons having a perfectly good goal disallowed against the RS, then seeing them go down the other end and Waddle scoring his one and only goal for them.

That was back in the day when fans were intermingled. I was about 15 and surrounded by Kopites in the Enclosure. They were really sympathetic and hugged me - not in a gloating way either. It made me feel WORSE! LOL!

A far cry from the way fans are today. I miss those days (pre-Heysel).

When NOT at the match - Clive Thomas semi final. You know the one. ;)

Agree with this ^^^

My worst moments, Alan Balls transfer & losing to the RS 2-1 in the 1971cup semi final

Worst 80 minutes - Everton v Wimbledon 1994.

Too many.

Going 2-0 down to Wimbledon in 1994. The ground was like a morgue. Then the aceness happened.

Getting tonked by Sheffield Wednesday on a cold and rainy Boxing Day in the nineties at some point.

Aston Villa beating us 6-2 on Bonfire Night in the eighties.

Tranmere in the FA Cup.

Moyes playing the reserves and Gerrard scoring a hat trick last year, along with the semi final.

That's just off the top of my head.
