This is Schneiderlins biggest game to date. If he can impress here, he may have a chance here.

We knew the footy manager crowd would want Digne straight in and Baines discarded, but was never gonna happen. Baines is still class, more than capable at this level especially on the ball (and will show it with better CBs next to him) and Digne will need time to settle in.

If Keane can overcome his chronic homesickness he might play a little better. I hope Capt Jags acts as a father figure and sometimes has a little chat with him about memories he might have of home and family. I recall when I was about 7, going off to a camp and my friend Ross Pottinger got really homesick. He spent the whole week crying. I teased him about it for years, the big girl’s blouse...

Out of interest, what did Ross Pottinger end up doing in life? If I don’t ask I will be pondering this at 2am.
