Can't believe how a player that trains every single day could be this bad with the ball at his feet. Well done Jags, ruined the opening game.
School boy stuff. First game back and we've just signed some players that want his position. You'd have thought he'd be wired concentration wise. He's finished at this level and he has been for a while.

They said it was for denial of a goalscoring opportunity, which makes no sense to me because he wins the ball. If it was given for dangerous play then I'd say there's a case but as he gets the ball before the man there isn't an opportunity to deny: the ball is won and going away from goal.

wow, a bit bluespeccy that haha

It doesn't count for them because we know successes in minor leagues don't count for much. Just ask de Boer, McClaren, Villas Boas, Hodgson and the rest. The latter two even got their shot with a rich club and failed to impress.

Marco Silva has much to prove.
Silva has done wonderful things in 3 different leagues and breaking records all over the place...nearly managed to pull out a miracle with Hull...he is still very young for a manager...McLaren apart from the Dutch league has not done much outside uk. Villas boas apart from Portuguese league
That Peter Walton saying this, and to be honest I can see why the ref has made that decision.

LAW 12

Serious foul play.

A tackle or challenge that endangers the safety of an opponent or uses excessive force or brutality must be sanctioned as serious foul play.

Any player who lunges at an opponent in challenging for the ball from the front, from the side or from behind using one or both legs, with excessive force or endangers the safety of an opponent is guilty of serious foul play.
If referee were sending off players for that in all games there would be at least one red card every game...ridiculous

He definitely gets the ball. IF he doesn't, the ball doesn't bounce back towards Wolves goal in that manner. It goes: jags onto ball; ball onto ankle, ball towards wolves goal; jags follow through onto ankle, player goes down.

If that's a red now, let's see how long it lasts. It means every sliding tackle that catches the player with a potentially dangerous follow through is now a red card.

Knowing us if we appeal he'll get a six-game rather than a three-game ban, might be a blessing of sorts.

Listen to them back to the Pickford bashing. The narrative this season will be: he's crap for Everton so he should leave to regain his England form.

You can do everything right in this game and it won't matter one jot if you have moron referees ruining match's. All you can ask for is consistent and fair refereeing from the officials, well they aren't fair and the only thing consist about them is how crap they are. F'N joke!

But we didn’t do “everything right”.

Jags made a major mistake which resulted in the free kick....Pickford could and should have kept it out.

Not to mention Richiarlson messing up a relatively easy pass to present Walcott with an open goal a few minutes before.
