Watched a fair bit of him at this World Cup and have decided we'd better off not bothering.

Isn't a bad player by any stretch but he really is very slow and we'll need a midfield with legs if we're going to start playing a pressing game. So similar to Schneiderlin so if we want a like-for-like replacement he'd be ideal I doubt that's Silva's plan for us. He'll want a six with a bit more tenacity.

He is the type of footballer that will fit in with the modern ethos of Everton football club slow / ponderous / overpriced/ disaster / tears

Got to up his tempo if he is playing in the PL. We defo need a presence in the middle of the park.

Thanks Paul; I'll pass it on.

Thought he was pretty dreadful last night, terrible first touch got him into trouble a few times and he's painfully slow. Swerve.

I remember people didn't like Barry and he was not very fast. Carrick also not very fast. And you don't need speedy players to play pressing football. It's all about tactics. :)

It's not simply about pace but how they manage the game and their work ethic: Barry wasn't quick but he worked his socks off. I don't get that feeling from him.

Iran put a fella on him most of the game. They know a lot goes through him. His lack of pace is the reason he probably wont cut it in the prem.

I think you have completely nailed it.

He looks good positionaly , good in possesion but lacks dynamic movement and is terrible when anyone runs past him
