It’s not just his pace, his awareness was terrible. And that’s something we struggled with massively last year, people not being aware of things going on around him and runners just easily drifting off him.

Good players can overcome pace by having outstanding awareness and positional ability, like Barry as a prime example.

Do I think he would offer anything better than Morgan? No

I agree with this.

Can you imagine this guy in the Prem with the ball pinging about, second balls etc. It'd be funny to watch him trying to Keep up. I hope West Ham get him .
That’s what happens when you have s dog of team, when most of your defenders and midfielders can’t trap a bag of cement and pass to a team mate.

Maybe if we buy a few footballers, we can start to control games, especially against the bottom half teams. Instead of most of them becoming a scrap, where under pressure we constantly give them the ball back.

Would instantly become the best passer at the club and would add physicality to our midfield but then as has been covered he's not mobile and in this league that's key. I think there's a reason he hasn't been signed yet and that's the reason..In the right system he could be decent but maybe Spain would suit him more?

Wasn't greatly impressed with him v Spain. He did the basics, picked up the ball and passed to someone more mobile; made a few good tackles, that was about it. As previously stated, his lack of mobility is the concern.

It is a bit odd that most in this thread admit he can pass and composed on the ball but aren't interested because he can't charge about and run around dead fast.

Teams that play with loads of players who dash about but are weak in possession are relegation fodder.

Yeah, Playing against Iniesta Silva and Isco is definitely the time to judge a holding midfielder.
And he didn't do bad at all to be fair. I just have visions of scruffy PL teams like Leicester lobbing it over him and Vardy sprinting past him. I think he's good at what he does but I'm hesitant that he would have any kind of the same effect here compared to Spain and Portugal who play with the ball on the floor.
Not saying the PL is better, it's just different and suits different players. Not sure if it would suit him.
